My Concerts For This Year So Far...

I would've gone to the Mayhem Fest, but there is really only three bands I want to see and if I'm paying full price for a ticket I want to be there for the whole show. So I'm passing on Anthrax, Slayer and Motorhead.

Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson are touring together this October. Planning on going to the Allstate Arena show. Tickets go on sale next week.

Seeing Def Leppard tonight and have a pair of extra tickets. Hopefully, I'll be able to sell them at the show.

Def Leppard, Poison, and Lita Ford, fun show!

I'm planning on going to the Mayhem Fest tomorrow, but if it gets to hot out, I'll skip it. I'm getting too old to risk my life to go to a concert.

OK, Mayhem Fest, where should I start...

I'm really beginning to hate metal fans. Not all of them, just the ones who drink waaaaaay too much and act like idiots at concerts. There's no reason to push people around (outside of the pit), throw beer cans into the crowd in front of you, and use vulgar language in front of women and children. There's also no reason to start fights at concerts. We're all just there to have a good time. Maybe I'm getting old, but so are the morons doing this.

Now that I've got that off my chest, I actually had a good time overall.

Anthrax were solid as always, but I think they may have had some sound problems. I heard quite a bit of feedback during their set. If someone from here was at the show, did you happen to see Charlie peeking out from back stage? I'm pretty sure that was him.

Motorhead were...well Motorhead! You either like them or you don't. Put me down for "like"!

Slayer were the best act of the 4 "name" bands last night. This is the first time I've seen them since "Clash of the Titans" in '91 and even without Jeff, they killed!

This was my first time seeing Slipknot and they were entertaining. I was getting tired by this point and left before the end of their set, but it wasn't because I didn't enjoy the show. I would see them again.

Open note to these, and all bands in general. Make sure you have t-shirts in all sizes. You'll make more money that way. I really wanted a new Anthrax shirt, but I couldn't get one in my size.

Scott said they were going to play Chicago in September. Maybe I can get a new shirt then.

Saw Rob Zombie/Megadeth/Lacuna Coil back in May. Lacuna Coil and Megadeth were great, Rob Zombie bored the shit out of me. The last time I saw him was probably about 13 years ago at Ozzfest and he was great. This time he had the lights down low so you couldn't see any of their faces and they just seemed like they weren't prepared to play a show. Each song felt like it was missing an instrument or something.

Saw Aerosmith/Cheap Trick last week. Both were good although CT's setlist was a bit of a disappointment. Aerosmith were really good.

Going to go see Slash this Friday and then Jane's Addiction the week after. Got tix to see Steve Vai (2nd row) in September and Anthrax/Testament/Death Angel in October.

I've been thinking about going to the Rob Zombie / Marilyn Manson show. Hopefully, that was just a bad night for Rob.

Last night I watched The Boss play the longest concert of his career. 4h6min with The E Street Band, with a solo acoustic pre-show of about 35 min. It was a once in a lifetime experience. I'm really speechless about it right now.

Best. Live. Band. Ever.

Springsteen's one of those performers I've always respected. I've never seen him, but someday...

I just got my ticket for Anthrax / Testament / Death Angel in the mail today! Never been to the Vic. How is the place?

Their US tour starts in two weeks. I highly recommend you go now because in their age it can end anytime.

I would love to see him in Chicago, but I already have tickets to see Kiss on the same day and my wife really wants to go. Should be a fun night either way!:Smokin:
