NBA Playoffs

Stackhouse didn't show up. They had a chance to come back and he commits a stupid foul in the back court, followed by an impossibly stupid technical foul. That's 3 points he gave up when we're trying to make a come back.
He's in the last year of his contract... I expect retirement... whatever it is, he's not a Maverick anymore.
Howard didn't show up for the second half (no way, right?). Cuban said after Howard's little pot head admission that he "would deal with it in the offseason"... so don't expect him to be a Maverick either.

The only guys I would count on being with the team without a doubt are Terry (fan favorite... actually showed up in playoffs), Dirk (franchise's best player ever), Kidd (no one will trade for him), Dampier (same), and Bass(developing young player you build your team around.)
Other than that, there's going to be a complete overhaul this year. I expect Avery to be fired within the week.
Hopefully Cuban will get Bobby Knight like some rumors are hinting at. At least it would be something to get excited about.

This is a suggestion from an ESPN.com writer.
What about a trade with Melo and Howard as the principles? Obviously Dallas would have to throw in more because Melo has more value than Howard, but wouldn't that make sense for both teams? Dallas gets a much needed scorer to team with Dirk - Denver gets a much-needed intangibles guy who doesn't care if he gets the ball and also has some good weed connections. Everyone wins.

No... I believe after the first quarter Howard only hit 2 shots... and no jumpers... I have come to the conclusion that his is without a doubt the worst jump shooting player in the NBA.

Also, Stackhouse probably cost us a chance to win or tie the game at the end... which takes away from any positive thing he might have done.
Not to mention he had pint size Paul on him about 3 times in the post and lost the ball every time, and turned it over for an easy Pargo layup once... he cost us more points than he gave us.
I'm just ready to see what happens to this team before next year.

Until then, Stars are up 3-0!!!!

the nuggets should trade iverson, not mello. mello is a franchise player and the team should be built around him, the nuggets need a point guard that plays more as a playmaker than a scorer, someone like rajon rondo would fit in perfectly, all the nuggets would need then is a down low man that can score. the mavs dont need anybody. they have the talent, they just suck and avery johnson should be fired

Why? Avery Johnson is a great coach. The Maverick's players just suck ass outside of Dirk.

On a side note, I was hoping the Cavs would knock out the Wizards last night but oh well. They'll get them next game.

Just watch the games and look at the match-ups and the style of offense he runs. It's so frustrating to watch. Things like guarding David West with Erick Dampier, even though he was constantly beat by him off the dribble and Dirk was murdered on the boards by Chandler as a result of that match-up. They run too much isolation, and have little to no motion in their offense, which is bad when you're a primarily jump shooting team.

I don't think he ever made one half time adjustment, either. He's been outcoached in 3 straight playoff series and that is inexcusable. Changing the lineup to match up with a 42 win team last year was one of the worst decisions I've ever seen from a coach.

They have plenty of talent. Dirk, Terry, Kidd, Bass, and even Dampier is great when you get him involved with the offense early and get him going, which is something Avery continually failed to realize. Howard even has the potential to be a great player (see last year's all star performance) but the coach can't keep him disciplined enough to coach him out of his mistakes and habit of taking bad jump shots. I would be apt to keep Howard if it wasn't for his shitty fucking antics during the playoffs. Avery has no since of discipline with the team and he can't seem to realize that you have to coach to the players you have, and he can't do that.

He'd be a good assistant somewhere to assist with defense and to make a suggestion about a change here and there, but he's over his head as a head coach.

kidd and nowitzki are both all stars, terry and howard are both amazing, plus dampier and stackhouse amongst others, the mavs have good players

I hope they get rid of Howard after the crap he pulled with admitting to being a pot head before the biggest game of the season.
Then after they lose game 4, and pretty much the season, he is handing out fliers in the locker room to come to his birthday party. That's a guy who cares a lot. Especially since it's a general rule among teams that there are to be no parties in the playoffs.

I think he's beyond the point of improvement now, seeing as he's 28, and his value is only going to decline. He shoots too many jump shots for being such a poor jump shooter. Teams still covet his young talent, so they should be able to pull something in for him.

I give the young Hawks credit in this series, but in game 7... the Celtics gave new meaning to a blowout!
BOSTON WINS AGAIN!
