Guess I should checkout some Apple commercials on youtube to see what this hated "Apple image" is.

I ended up getting an Apple computer because when I wanted to get my first DAW/machine I asked this computer geek friend of mine what to get.
He said get this Mac G3 (at the time) which surprised me because he is 100% windows and custom built PC's. So I did and it's been Mac ever since, for music that is.

I read about like 15+ similar cases on a finnish Apple forum. Totally unacceptable for a phone in its pricerange. I'm thinking of holding on before getting one for myself

That Project Sword demo did indeed look incredible, but those controls look maddening for anything other than, well, walking around looking at stuff

I played it (it's available to check out for free).

The controls suck. Period.

Dude is unlucky. My phone doesn't have anything like that.

Same here, my iPhone4 is solid and I fucking love it - zero issues to date, same with the 3GS I had before it.

The only qualm I have with the iPhone 4 is my screen lock sensor tends to not always lock the screen when i'm on the phone. Could be the way I hold it or maybe i have weird shaped ears its really all beyond me. But in any given phone call, i'll randomly put someone on speaker, call someone else on 3 way, send a text, open my contacts list, or mute the caller, or all of the above in the same call. Aside of that though the 4 is incredible.
