NFL 2010

Situational blitzing is the key. Teams who fall prey to the Rex Ryan I'm gonna blitz the fucking dogshit out of you every play generally suck anyways. When he plays good teams or someone like Peyton (Who Ryan repeatedly has said he hates playing) the defense usually gets torched.

Blitzing is fun to watch, but I probably wouldn't like it all that much if the Colts did it a ton.

Last year AFC Championship game, Jets were punching the Colts right up in the gut all game. Colts didn't do shit at all, then Bart Scott and Stickland get hurt and they were able to just pick apart Drew Coleman all day.

Jets also lost Shonn Greene who was a main reason they were beating the shit out of the Colts defense.

Right, that's why Joseph Addai nearly had more rushing yards and a better ypc average than both Shonn Greene and Thomas Jones combined. Makes total sense. Here are the stats if you don't believe me:

What the Colts did to the Jets in the AFCCG was what the Colts always do to Rex Ryan's defense, start out slow but eventually get in sync and torch them all over the field. This happens every single time they play.

You have to put pressure on the QB.
The single most important part of defense.
You really think dropping back 7 slows down a good offense at all? No. It does absolutely nothing.
Now if the QB is running for his life, making bad throws. That's how you win.

Obviously you don't check stats that disprove that statement.

A. You can get pressure with 4
B. Perceived pressure is just as good as (if not better than) the real thing.

He wouldn't have torched them if Coleman didn't have to be on the field and if Scott had still been there. First half of that game was all Jets.

awesome, if a team can get pressure with just the front 4, then that's badass.
But, most cannot. 4 against 5 is usually a win for the Offense.

^ Outside of Peppers, The Bears don't have the talent to rush four and they don't have the talent(corners/safeties)to cover and compensate the blitz.

That's it. All they can do is mix it up and hope it works.

Look at what the Colts did to the Giants. They use their talent accordingly.

Press/Bump mediocre receivers and get after the QB with the best combination of 4-3 edge rushers there are.

Saints looked bad, yet again, barely squeaking by against one of the worst teams in the league.

Need a big run stuffing DE and some competent OLBs BAD.

Bullitt broke a bone in his shoulder and is done for the season. So, Bob Sanders is out, Bob's backup Melvin Bullitt is out, Jamie Silva was the third string SS tore his ACL in the preseason and is obviously out. The only safeties left is an undrafted rookie free agent and a castoff from the Chiefs who is nothing more than a special teams player.

jesus mother of god this sucks

Well, not like the Colts defense was any good with him in, but yeah potential joke status on defense now.

The Colts do not scare me at all, and the Boys play them this yr.

Edit: No team in the NFL really scares me this year. The Boys ability to decide to not show up some games is what scares me.

If things keep up the way they have last few weeks, Jets and Steelers will meet up in the AFC Championship and well NFC ... maybe.. Falcons and ... uh yeah NFC sucks this year.
