NFL 2010

Where my Pats had some trouble, they did better than I expected. They do have a 06 Colts like team.

And the Pats were the first team to

score a TD :-
rushing
passing
kick return
interception
blocked fg

in ONE game.

The only seasons I think the Chargers choked in was last season against the Jets and 2006 against the Patriots. Aside from those seasons, they've advanced a lot further than they should have imo.

Amazing what a weak division can do for your Win column and being overrated AMIRITE??? hint: Colts

Interesting:

What A Calendar Year For Austin
Posted by nickeatman at 10/6/2010 6:42 PM CDT on truebluefanclub.com

This is usually about the time in the week when I relay a pretty interesting stat that has surfaced this week.

This one involves Miles Austin, who nearly a year ago this week became a full-time starter and his career hasn’t been the same since. The date of that Chiefs game was Oct. 11, Week Five of the season. A year later, Austin enters Week Five with an Oct. 10 meeting against the Titans.

The significance? Not much, except for the fact that in that one-year span, no receiver has been better than Austin. And that’s statistically speaking, or maybe even in general.

We always say that numbers don’t lie. Well, in the last calendar year, no receiver has more receiving yards than Austin, who has 1,547 yards, which really only covers 15 games.

Austin is ahead of Andre Johnson (1,488), Wes Welker (1,424), Roddy White (1,396) and Reggie Wayne (1,321). In catches, Austin is fourth with 98 receptions and fifth in TDs with 11.

Basically over the last year, Miles Austin has not only taken the opportunity given to him, but has thrived in the role.

Obviously you don't know the difference between a loss and an ass kicking. Still laying the blame on that ridiculous "celebration" penalty. Worst rule in the book. No Fun League amirite. Austin's TD catch early in the 3rd quarter still makes you naysayers eat your words.

Cowboys offensive line has gotten old. Free is the highest grading lineman right now. Gonna have to replace all those old guys over the next 2 years. Going to be painful.

Edit: LOL @ the Saints.

Giants have redeemed themselves.

They still need to limit their mistakes but what a huge difference from 2 1/2 weeks ago.

I believe they can take their Division if their young Offense ( Nicks/Bradshaw/Smith/Manningham/Boss/Beckum) can stay consistent and play smart. Gilbride and Eli will keep trying to figure out how to use these young weapons.....their starting to show it now.

Defensively, I believe they learned from the Colt game; they don't need to play a ridiculous amount of dime against spread Offensive packages but need their linebackers on the field (stopping the run) and their DE's/Line pressuring the QB. Also, to spite what we saw against the Colts our secondary is much improved.

P.S Bradshaw is BEAST!

Excellent rebuttal. Of course you can't pull up any stats to back up Eli because he doesn't have them. He has a ring thanks to a miracle catch and an excellent defense. He is, and has been, mediocre on his best day. Trent Dilfer 2.0.

O.K, so I'll entertain the boards Moron...

2009 stats:

62.3 Comp percentage

4021 passing yards

27 TDS 14 ints

93.1 QB rating

Trent Dilfer my BALLS!, now you can shut the fuck up.

Don't be bitter because he beat your sorry ass Cowboys in the playoffs and went on to win a Super Bowl.

And where did the Giants go? Nowhere. Garbage time stats don't make him a better QB. His lifetime rating is 83, and he has had more sub 80 years than over 80.

His rating in 2007, when they won the Super Bowl, was 73, the lowest rating of his career when starting all 16 games. No, I am not jealous of Eli Manning. Strahan? Tyree? Sure.

Edit: Comparatively, Trent Dilfer's rating in 2000 was 76, so Dilfer had slightly more to do with his team's success than Eli did for the Giants in 07.

Eli Manning is obviously a better quarterback now than when his team was better, just like Roethlisberger last year had his best year despite the team going 9-7 after having won 2 super bowls. Your argument was that Eli Manning sucks and is holding back the team, but they don't have a better option available to them. He's an upper third quarterback. Not elite, but still franchise material.

Yeah, I want to be clear I am saying he is mediocre, not terrible. He is "shitty" compared to Peyton.

Edit: I could also point out that Tony Romo's career rtg is 92(just shy of 93) but I havent been rounding up so won't now, and that his lowest career rtg was 91, when the Cowboys also had their worst record with him at QB at 9-7.

So don't start fanboi-ing me with Eli and making Tony Homo jokes when the stats speak for themselves.

Edit #2: NFL Career Passing Leaders

Eli Manning is number 55. Tony Romo is number 4. Eat it.
