NFL 2018

Great to get Wentz back. There was definitely some rust and a few bad decisions, but the athleticism is still there, which is the biggest relief.

Also, I’m loving watching Dink N’ Dak be exposed for the borderline starter he is. He is only effective in perfect conditions. Not franchise QB material at all.

Dak hasn't been the same since the Atlanta game last year, and the scheme isn't the same as 2016. I watched one of the cringiest examples of terrible play design/play calling the other day. I think it was Baldinger showing in a 4 wideout set that every receiver ran straight into their coverage. The 2 outside receivers went up the sideline and were pushed to the outside release and the 2 inside receivers ran straight to the sticks and turned around with the safeties just waiting there for them. Nobody is completing passes in that scheme without a line giving them six or seven seconds to throw or breaking contain, and waiting for the receivers to just run around off-route.

Their scheme is fucked. In 2016, they still ran something similar to the ideal Romo scheme with Dak: solid-run game, occasional check-down passes, and the constant deep-ball threat. Dak showed then he can launch the ball. I don't understand why since then they've babied his pass game while also pretending to have the best O-Line in the league. I don't think they should go Fitzmagic and start launching the ball as far down the field as possible at every opportunity, but you've gotta do it sometimes to get those safeties to back off.

If you check Dalton Miller on twitter he's got video after video of just play after play one or another person on the offense is fucking up, and/or the scheme is just dumb.

Yeah. Plus, the Dallas receivers look like a bunch of high schoolers in size comparison with the Detroit backs.

Probably not helping. I like the hurry up on offense; they are getting lined up around 5 seconds earlier per play, allows more time for diagnosing and not pressed to snap the ball. Poor Awuzie. He's draped on the guys and they still catch it.

Idiots on CZ still screaming for Dez. Dez would have alligator armed a couple into INTs by now.

The hurry-up is definitely making a difference. Dallas's offence is pretty boring and not really that good at anything except for running and doing check-downs with Zeke, so they've gotta get the defense a little winded. Defensive-wise, I couldn't be happier. The plays on Awuzie were simply great pass-and-catches.

Well that was an encouraging game. Throw in those catches that were dropped on money passes Dak goes over 300 yards and 3TDs on the previously #1 pass D. As it was 255 for 2TDs wasn't bad. The scoop and throw away on the strip was almost Romoesque clutch. About 4 deep dimes and a lot of slant passes right on the money. Get rid of that button hook shit.

The difference in this game tells me the coaches should take a lot of blame for the first 3 games of the season. Scheming scared.

You've got a top three back, a mobile quarterback, and in offense which can mostly only pull of short check-downs in the pass game, and you choose to punt it on 4th and 2 in the opponent's territory in overtime? Get the fuck out of here.
