I love the Dragonlance series, that's pretty much all I read along with Forgotten Realms and Ravenloft books. That original Dragons of.. series and the Twins series in Dragonlance ny Weis and Hickman are second only to the Lord Of The Rings and The Hobbit IMO

Although classic, Fantasy has come a long way since The Hobbit, and The Lord of the Rings, Ian Irvine's The View From The Mirror series is fucking great, and anything by David Gemmell should be read by any fan of Fantasy.

Too many books and too little time. The new Terry Goodkind should last me a week.

I just Re read the Dark Tower I. The revised edition that is. Thraxdude is right if you like the siries read it. HE ties alot of stuff together alot better. I can't wait til nov 4th!!!! the next DT come out BOOM baby!
right now I'm almost done with HArry Turtledove's 2nd book inj the American Empire series "The Center Cannot Hold" if you like history or civil war stuff this is realy good. The series starts with How Few Remain which takes place AFTER the civil war in which the south won. Now the USA and CSA are at war agian. and eventually it leads to World War I. It's the bets alternate history i've ever read. And don't worry it's not written like he thinks the south was right or anything. it's just a what if sorta thing.
but if you check it out How Few Remain isn't listed as part of the series but it is. it leads into The Great War trilogy which leads into American Empire.

Harry Turtledove is great. In Between The Rivers is also a must read by Turtledove.

I got a lot of really cool ideas and read a giant stack of books from the last thread of this subject, so I decided to do it again.

What are you reading right now, or what have you read recently that is worth checking out?

reading "the regulators" by richard bachman, a.k.a. stephen king right now. just finished "wit'ch star" by james clemens, last book in a 5 part series.

The running man - part of the bachman books. Very different to the film. Very good also a ggod page turner.

Just read fallen dragon a sci fi book from british author peter f hamilton.

I just finished PORNO the folow up to "Trainspotting", okay its complete trash but funny as hell and perfect beach reading. (apart from the fucking blow up doll saying hello on the front cover, many looks in Nice did i get)............

Ah, crap. I'm not sure if I'll ever finish that damn book. She's boring! :Smug:

I think I'll check out The Gunslinger (again) after I finish To The Nines.

It took me actually one day to read The Girl...
Anyway, I just finished Barker's Books Of Blood Vol.1 (the fourth time or so, I'll never get tired of it) and I'm reading a novel by czech author whose name you are not supposed to know, but it kicks ass! I am also Terry Pratchett's Discworld fanatic. I read pretty much everything that smells of horror, thrill, tension, psycho... and yeah, some good lovemaking scenes. :hotjump: Do you know Shaun Hudson? His "Lucy's Child" kicks ass, I read it in English and I think of translating it into Czech, but I dunno whether someone's gonna publish it...

Yeah! For me, the best are "Fifth Elephant" (you'll love it if you love Men At Arms), "The Hogfather" (absolute kickass), "Witches Abroad", "Feet Of Clay", "Thruth" also kicks.

Finished "Debt of Honor" and started "Executive Orders" yesterday, very good books so far. Only "Bear and Dragon" left, if you count the "Red Rabbit" prequel. So I should be looking to purchase the revised Gunslinger soon, probably 2 weeks when I might have money again. I probably won't read "Red Rabbit" till later. I'm going to get hard backs of the Dark Tower...

Black House by Stephen King & Peter Straub. This is the sequel to The Talisman. I'm about 400 pages in, and last night I stayed up until 12:30 (work night) reading it and was having a hard time putting it down. Right around this point in the book it's getting REALLY creepy. Good stuff though. You can always count on King to deliver the goods! Aside from The Talisman, I have never ready anything by Straub. I will have to start after this one!

Ya know, staying up late and reading is bad, found out today. Was up til just after 1:30am, had to work at 4am, so get up at 3am to get ready and be able to drive to work on time. Tossed and turned for awhile til alarm went off, no sleep, then only got fleeting snoozes between snooze hits. About 5-10 mins sleep.
