Band of Brothers was incredible.
...
Also, Apocolypse Now wasn't very good.

How someone can seriously claim this is beyond me, but I guess opinions are like assholes. Apocalypse Now is probably one of the most captivating war-themed movies ever made and Band of Brothers was completely unremarkable (and the episode with the guy who played Ross on Friends was completely unwatchable, who the fuck casts anyone from Friends in anything and a WWII drama above all). And if anything, Apocalypse Now is *the* movie that deals with how men cope with the horrors of war.

David Schwimmer was an odd choice when you first think about it, but Hervery Soble, in real life, was a pompous, hoity-toity asshole. Who better to play him than David Schwimmer? (Not to mention many of those actors were cast because of their physical resemblance to them men they were portraying).

Apocolypse Now just didn't do it for me.

Who the FUCK said anything about learning about WW2 from the show? Where the hell do you come up with this shit- seriously, where? Because you are apparently reading all sorts of shit that I never typed, and I'd like to know what fucked up mental disability you have that causes you to read things that aren't there.

Anyone who appreciates history should appreciate Band of Brothes.

You can appreciate history with a fucking book, you over-zealous, whiny dipshit.

Apocalypse Now "just didn't do it for you"? If you like war as a theme, watch it again you fucking philistine.

Again, where in the hell do you see a single fucking thing about learning? I liked the show because I'm interested in WW2 and history in general, Therefore, the show appeals to me. I've read plenty of history, fuckface. Again, you've got a lot of nerve making baseless assumptions about me because I liked or didn't like a particular show. And I still really want to know where I said that I "learned" from it. Please tell me, you self important cocksucker.

It "didn't do it for me" because it was not good enough to be as long as it was. I like war as a theme but that doesn't mean I have to love every single war movie ever made. I'm a philistine for not liking it? Now who's over zealous?

If you appreciate history, it obviously means more than you wearing a shit eating grin whenever faced with the Webster's definition of history. It implies that you enjoy learning about it.

Anyway, the only good thing to ever appear on tv is usually black, scathing satirical comedy. I feel bad for anyone who actually sits through a hellish hour block of sitcoms, hospital dramas, reality tv, 24 or any other shit that's popular to watch now. An old girlfriend's family did this as a nightly ritual, when I actually saw these shows for the first time... :ill: :zombie:

IN A WORLD...WHERE A MAN TENDS TO HIS RESPONSIBILITIES A LITTLE TOO MUCH...

THINGS CAN GET A LITTLE COMPLICATED...

"This garden looks SO FUCKING GREEEEAAAAT!!!!!!!!!"

Sam Kinison is....THE CONSTANT GARDENER...

I don't think buying a used porno is a good idea

"Hey! Why's the cover all sticky?"
, it was brand new actually, had to rip the package out to watch it.:) It'll be memorable though...first porno I ever bought at a store. They didn't even ID me, didn't matter, I was 18 anyways, still am.

I find the simpsons much more clever and intelligently written than southpark (though I enjoy both shows)

as jean said, the humor and the brilliance of simpsons is far more subtle than that of southpark, and is far more rewarding as a result

How the fuck do you figure that "leaning" and "appreciating" are the same thing? I appreciate a tv miniseries that is historically accurate, and that means I've "learning" from it? Seriously, what the fuck are you on? How the hell does already knowing about something and, therefore, appreciating dramatic depictions of it mean that I am "learning" from it?

And in the second part of your rant you again illustrate that you are self important, pretentious and a bit of a nerd.

SVU has some really fascinating writing, although the past few episodes have been lackluster

they cover things like pedophillia, necrophillia, child molestation, murder, etc... and it is just phenomenal
