I was asked today by the Dean of my school to make a little speech at an opening a week from today in this hoity toity place not far from my school. He wants me to speak as a "representative of the painting department." I can't turn it down because it's such an honor...Needless to say I am SO nervous about this. I am NOT good at public speaking! I want to die.

I recently had to give a speech to a bunch of people. I was also very nervous, but I found when I was up there, just reading and an occasion unfocused look over the crowd works to make it easy. Good luck.
