Old school death metal

Let me put it this way, most of my downloading is done for only one or two songs on an album.....IF I like the album,I will buy it...but what is the difference between downloading several songs, by different groups and burning them on a CD, and recording different songs off of the radio? I don't see why I should have to pay $15-$20 for a cd that has only one or two songs on it that I like. Just my 2cents worth...I know I'm not gonna change anyones mind one way or the other..
OH, and btw...I may be a noob as far as these forums go, but I've been listening to Metal since the 80's so I am far from a noob as far as that goes.

I download if...

1. the CD I want is incredibly rare and cannot be found at any record store.
2. I want to sample a CD that I plan to purchase.
3. I like the album but not enough to spend a full CD price on it.
4. the artist who made the CD is a multi-platinum seller and probably won't be affected by my downloading.

Not that I really feel I have to rationalize it or anything, but just thought I'd express my feelings. Is that alright or is this not the place for that?

^ disregard that last comment. :p

You can purchase individual songs for download.

Does anyone know if Inverted (Swe) is any good? I just did that advanced search thing at MA and it appears they have 2 albums and a fair amount of demos. Is it worth my time trying to track something down by them?

Don't waste your time. I bought There Can Only Be One and The Shadowland and sold them shortly after which is something I rarely do. I am really into euro death metal in general.

Those are exactly the cases in which I download. If a CD is in print and readily available, and I like it quite bit, I buy it. Most of the CDs I dl are out of print, and there is no point in supporting some greedy asshole on ebay, and not the band. The CDs that are in print the I dl and never buy, I only listen to a few times and never again, so it wouldn't be worth it to buy them.

From now on, delete all conversation about downloading, because it has nothing to do with the subject at hand. I'm getting sick of this shit. We all know there's pathetic worms and leeches out there, but we don't have to hear about how fucking arrogant they are about it.

On Topic: I am just listening to Convulse's World Without God for the first time and so far its pretty solid. I also managed to dl a copy of Uncanny's album so I'll check that out in a bit.

What are your opinions on these releases?

Splenium for Nyktophobia is a fine album. It hasn't struck me yet as something truly special, just a solid enjoyable album. I know Malignance is a big fan.
Convulse sounds like one of those also-ran death metal bands
Wolrd without God is just an ok release, imo. Nothing really distinctive about it.

They're both good albums. I prefer Uncanny's material on their earlier split with Ancient Rites. It's rawer, heavier and darker. I agree with Dark Bliss about Convulse; World Without God is solid but pretty run of the mill.

The Awakening by Merciless is bloody great.

I agree. Almost perfect death metal album musically and production wise with some cool atmospheric parts, just nothing mandatory. I had no idea at first that one of the guitarist is in katatonia.
