One Album Wonders

It doesn't matter if people know Schizophrenia or not; Beneath the Remains, Arise, Chaos A.D., and Roots void their presence in this thread regardless.

I agree that Time Does Not Heal and Act III are not good albums (I've never managed to listen to either all the way through in one sitting), but how many people haven't heard "9 songs, 67 minutes, 246 riffs" before? And Act III got signed to EMI, something that hardly any other band could manage. Not that it made them sell a bazillion copies or anything, but it's still pretty well known. Even their new stuff seems relatively popular among the modern thrash crowd.

Yeah I could see Death Angel not being on this list due to their popular return. Killing Season seems to get a lot of love, but I'm not that into it.

I never see people talking about Chaos A.D. or Roots, and really Arise doesn't get mentioned much either. I'm not talking about quality, in case you don't realize that, I'm saying that they are known for Beneath The Remains more or less entirely.

They only had one album and then Chuck died. What's the point of mentioning bands that only have one album?
Come to think of it, what's the point of this thread?

If your reading comprehension wasn't complete shit, you would have seen this in the initial post:

itt, you post bands who only put out one album or bands who put out more than one album, but are only known for ONE of their albums

I would say the opposite. VH1's Top 20 Metal Songs had Refuse/Resist on it, and I believe that led average metal fans to Chaos AD.

EDIT: And Rhapsody(online music store), shows Chaos AD second to A-Lex. Roots being the third most popular.

Nowadays on metal forums, ok, but Chaos A.D. and Roots were the albums that really put them on mainstream metal's map. Their other albums combined probably don't meet the sales of those two.

I guess...all I know is that Beneath The Remains is the one that made a big splash and is immortal thrashterpiece etc. Arise too, I guess.

I like Killing Season and Art of Dying, but those albums are way different from the earlier style, and I don't care that much for Frolic in the Park or Act III

Mysticum - In the Streams of Inferno
Miasma - Changes
Sarcofago - INRI
Vulcano - Bloody Vengeance
Infernäl Mäjesty - None Shall Defy

Edge of Sanity - Crimson I

I've gotta disagree on this one, they had many other good albums

Speaking of Control Denied, the second album is going to be released this year:

AWESOME! Now if only I could get my hands on the Control Denied demo with Chuck on vocals.

Fantastic one hit wonders:
Semargl - Attack On God (Their latest 2 suck)
Dan Swano - Moontower (Only had 1 album)
disEMBOWELMENT - Transcendence into the Peripheral (Only had 1 album)

Decent on hit wonders:
Massacre - From Beyond (Second album was practically emo death metal thank to a big fag known as Kam Lee)
Solstice - Solstice (The second is alright but can't touch this one)

Devourment - Molesting the Decapitated
Blut aus Nord - The Work Which Transforms God (really the most well-known)
Human Mincer - Degradation Paradox (i always forget they had albums before this because they're soooo meh)
