Agnostic is obviously the correct choice because noone can say 100% without any doubt whatsoever that there is a god or if there isn't a god.
I thought an atheist was someone who doesn't believe in a "supreme" being and that death is the end, that there's no big plan or anything, not someone who can say for certain (as in proof, etc) that there is no god. Am I wrong?

I put athiest cause I'm not sure what else you'd call someone who just tries to enjoy life and pays no attention to the who, what or why arguments. I beileve that when I croak, that's the end of me and the world as my two brain cells see it.

I can say 100% without any doubt whatsoever that there aren't any gods as any humans on this earth have described. What i cannot do is prove that there aren't any gods. But I am definitely positively 100% sure that there are no gods.

Just so you know. :loco:

We did this a few months ago. Man the threads on here are recycled. Not complaining, just stating the obvious.

Yeah but not everyone is on this forum constantly and sees every single thread the moment it's posted. And the search function doesn't work so don't blame me that I didn't look...
Not complaining about your complaining that you stated wasn't complaining, just stating the obvious.

Yeah, that's me too.

I've always felt the burden of proof lay in the other party's hands. The ones that make the assertion that there is a being/essence where by default there is no indication of one. The thing here is that most religions work on the concept of faith, which seems in direct contrast to reality, logic, rationale etc. It's an uneven playing field, so to compare religions/antireligions directly has always seemed like a foolhardy endeavor.

It's not a big part of my life. I'm just atheist and leave it at that.

I don't think it really impacts on my music listening... I suppose I don't really like music that tries to preach religious ideals, or identifies itself with a major organized religion, but regardless if it's good music, it shouldn't matter.

^^Yea, that's me totally. I don't pay attention to religions or religious arguments because none of it means a damn to me.

Khayman-To say that there are can't be atheists is not correct. I think about it like this; without humans there would be no thought process about god/s and that idea only came into existance with the evolution of man. Without humans (and no religious organizations) there would be no god or religions since it is manmade. Completely different from an agnostic who listens to the arguments from both sides.

Exactly. A good songis a good song whether the music comes from a Christian, a Jew, a Womble*, whatever. Same goes for this boring "would you like music made by a murderer" stuff. Yes, is the answer, if its ear pleasing it doesn't matter what personal ideas were behind it.

Its always interesting to know what the people behind the music think, but it shouldn't dictate whether you like the musical notes the musicians play or not.

Disagreeing about the lyrics is another thing, but then I doubt many people would care about other peoples points of view being put across in other mediums, you can still enjoy a film made by Christians with a Christian-based story if it has good camera work, directing, whatever, so I don't see how music should be any different.

* I do realise that Womble music is 99% irritating, 1% befuddling. But ooooooh so tidy.

Not sure what I am. I know God exists... its a brilliant concept to begin with in my opinion. Person who came up with the theory has the highest of respects from me. Won't go into many details about my bliefs but...

Atheist I guess...

buddhist, with a helping of taoists/pagan and medieval catholic spirituality added to the brew.

Start with the lotus or heart sutras
add a little tao te ching and chuang tzu
toss in a helping of the spiral dance and the cloud of unknowing
next add the revelations of divine love of julian of norwich and
the ascent of mt. carmel ala john of the cross
finish off with walden by thoreau
