Opeth's best

Considering everyone here has heard Opeth. What do you think is their best release so far?

For me it has to be Morningrise. That album isn't just a nice listen, it brings back alot of old memories, and it has To Bid you Farewell. Possibly the best ballad EVER.

I am not familiar with their music. I have Blackwater Park and Still Life, but I haven't listened to them more than once or twice. I guess they weren't immedeately appealing.

It's really a tough call for me because I like all of Opeth's albums except for maybe Deliverance.

i like all their albums, but for me MAYH is one of my top ones, as is still life

Still Life is the one I've enjoyed the most, though I forget when was the last time I actively listened to the band. The rest is snoozensome. Listen to Phlebotomized,Supuration Mindrot,Morgion, Saturnus– all bear similarities in execution but are better alternatives to Opeth.

Who voted for Damnation? Seriously. I'm not against the style, but the songwriting is clearly lacking compared to their other albums.

Morningrise is my favorite. Dirge for November is the best song though.
