thats cool man, but what im saying is that their rise to popularity nowadays is due to dimebags passing away.

Unfortunately, I agree. Whenever I ask people how long they've been listening to Pantera, they always say "I've liked them for a long time." And when I follow that up with "But how long have you been listening to them?" it's always followed up with "What's the difference?" So I follow that up with my usual "Name at least 3 songs and/or albums" quiz, and I walk away.

You can't make passing judgments or opinions like that without anything to back it up, or else you'll just sound like a complete and utter retard. Dimebag was one of the greatest metal guitarists in history. His riffs were insane, and full of energy and emotion. Players like Zakk Wylde called him "the greatest guitarist to ever live". And EVH placed perhaps the most famous guitar in history (besides Jimi's fenders) the yellow and black striped guitar off Van Halen 2, in his coffin during the funeral. if thats not respect, I don't know what is.

-dimebag died while playing guitar in front of is fans, IMO there is no better way to go out.

-dime's solos are overrated so i dont think he is as good as most people think, but once again. He made some of the the coolist and unforgetable riffs ever.

-pantera was a cool southern metal band, and being from the south i love that. So people shut the fuck up about the use of the rebal flag. It isnt a symbol of racism, it is a symbol of a lifestyle and a way of thinking.

Also I don't think Dimebags death made him considered one of the worlds best guitarist. He was considered this by people even before he died. Sure their popularity rose a little but that is to be expected. In saying all this I am not a huge Pantera fan but Dimebag deserves alot of respect for what he did.

There were 2 kids in my first period class that both wore Hammerfall shirts... I asked them if they knew who they were, and they were like "No, I'm just wearing this shirt because my parents bought it for me". I thought that was pretty stupid.

Whenever I wear my V shirt inti school, people think it looks stupid, and bug me about why I wear it, and when they ask me why I wear it, I tell them "Because it's my favorite album ever, from my favorite band ever." How many people in my school can actually say that about the band shirts they wear? 2. Me, and a cool kid from Argentina who likes Stratovarius.

this sums up Hammerfall for my part. I actually only enjoyed them when I went to a special hockey game in sweden this year. There was the "Artist" team and a bunch of lame kids from a popular tv-show teaming up against them. Well, the thing was that two Hammerfall members were in the Artist team and one of em had this awful skating skill making him eat so much ice, i really felt sorry for him. It was hilarious to watch him fall like an idiot at every contact he had with the puck.
The only Hammerfall show ever worth something to be honest.

i notice the same fuckin thing on campus where i am...but it's almost always the swan song '77 tour shirt... i've never found the courage or the energy to ask them if they can name 5 good songs however but then some of the people, you can totally tell.

another shirt that pisses me off, is the darkside of the moon shirt. everyone fuckin wears that shirt. i don't think i'll ever get it...not for awhile anyway, cuz u'd see someone else wearing it every time u wear it. and i'm 100% sure most of those people are worse then the led zep kids in knowning anything about the band or their catalogue

I don't know why, but I always misinterpreted the lyrics in "Through the Looking Glass" for some reason. Examples are....

"The three to be crowned Queen" to me is "Dreamed to be prom queen"
"Scepter in hand" to me is "Sucker in hand"
"captures her prismatic eye" to me is "catches a prismic eye"
"waken the queen of Nevermore" to me is "making the queen of evermore"
"talking in riddles" to me is "don't need any reason"
"the queen and the rook" to me is "the queen and the reich" (this is the revelation I was most disappointed with as reich just sounds cooler and is a cool reference to another certain band )

On a side not, "Knight of the Templar" in "The Accolade" to me is "Knight of the Temple" and has been for the longest time.
Oh, I can't let "Lady of the Snow"'s chorus get away either. To me it goes "Lady of the Snow, calling me, a silver work awaits in the cold".

All the aforementioned misunderstandings in the song(s) are what I still hear instead of the real lyrics. I don't know why *shrugs*.
