Yeah... Attila didn't make a good job on many songs of the album, that has received a lot of criticism.

Because for the most part, the music is rubbish, lyrics are rubbish and they all look like absolute dickheads.
Atheist - Unquestionable Presence
Most people on here have already heard it, but to those that haven't, DO IT! I got this alfum earlier today and my mind was blown by the time the FIRST SONG ended
, so imagine my reaction after I heard the whole thing! This album rivals "Human" by Death as the best death metal album I've ever heard, which isn't much, but still.
The basslines are ridiculous, as evident on the drum/bass track for Mother Man (talking about the remaster here), solos are abundant and outstanding, and the riffs! THE RIFFS!

I don't think black metal is a joke, if you are trying to say their lyrics are stupid, half the thrash bands around use worse fucking lyrics. Oh and most of your 'grind' or whatever the fuck it is bands, Cannibal Corpse etc etc.

Bearing in mind that I don't listen to most thrash with gant lyrics - because it fucking angers me - and it's not like grindcore is intended to be reknowned for it's lyrical prowess in the first place so that's your arguement out of the window.
The most I've ever managed to get into with black metal is Sarcofago, Desaster (both of which are closer to thrash), Venom (who're much closer to NWOBHM) and Watain. And Watain bored the crap out of me after maybe the fourth listen.
Mayhem are just terrible in every aspect and I can never even give Immortal a chance these days after that atrocious Call of the Wintermoon. Fuck black metal, it's clowny, it's poserish and it's downright bloody silly. If I want to see someone running around the place with makeup on I'll go and see King Diamond (or Kiss if I'm desperate).
That Immortal announcement for Bloodstock Open Air 2011 has pretty much ensured that I won't attend the festival next year unless by some miracle Coroner get announced too. I can't stand black metal in the fucking slightest, it's got all the substance of a dead woodlouse

I stand strong in my choice to hold Emperor as a totally respectable band.
No, I've had "Piece of Time" for a while now, but "Unquestionable Presence" blows it out of the water in every way.

You think so Keenan? I don't like the second album as much as Piece of Time and Elements (Most people like UP the most). I don't like it as much because the mix isn't that well. I remember discovering all 'those' bands. I heard Kelly singing on Beneath The Remains on a track and Sepultura were my favourite bands so I checked out Atheist, Cynic, Death, Pestilence.... List goes on. Really glad I buy albums and can read the small print on this stuff haha!

Grind tends to have a cause. Animal rights was a major one for Napalm Death and Lee Dorrian still sings about animal right with Cathedral. But then again there was some really silly lyrics back then like the early Carcass stuff.
I like lyrics that don't take themselves too serious but at the same aren't shit. But as a whole I don't take notice of lyrics too often. I'll sit here and sing a song and never piece it all together. It's just another instrument to a song. Like John Tardy from Obituary doesn't sing real words! The dude just screams! LOVE IT!

Yeah that albums not so consistant. But still buy it cos it's got some classics on it. You cannot go wrong with Obituary!
