Recomend me some music! thread

As with my previous recommendation posts, this one is gonna be about some old-school thrash that Dave and Joe have turned me onto in the last few weeks.

First off, Vendetta. Honestly, I have no idea the "Who, what, where, when" of this band, but DAMN did they put out a classic. "Brain Damage" is definitely an album worth checking out. If you're lucky to find an actual copy (Like I did, $33 was a bit much, but I've seen worse) than good for you.

Oh, and the bass solo at the beginning of this song is MINDBLOWING.

Secondly, Vio-Lence. "Eternal Nightmare" shouldn't be that hard to find, and is totally worth the $15 or whatever. Bit on the short side though. Rob Flynn from Machine Head was in this band. Fun fact. He apparently re-used some solos for Machine Head material later.
The vocals may not appeal to some people though. I find them..... Unique.

Third, Artillery. After doing some research, this band has actually been around for a long ass time. "By Inheritance" has already become one of my favorite albums. The clean parts are just so damn great, and the singer's voice is amazing! Not to mention the RIFFS.

Just hoping that I can pass along some awesomeness.

Thanks Dave and Joe. :D

Robb didn't reuse any Vio-lence material for Machine Head - though he wrote Blood for Blood and Death Church whilst he was still in the band.

Vendetta are just fuckwin. "And the Brave Man Fails" is stellar.

Phil Demmel was also in Vio-lence.

He didn't? Well then what the hall am I talking about? I could've sworn that he did.... Maybe the Music that sounds like other music thread will help me out in remembering what I'm on about.

Also, Phil reused a riff from the technocracy song "How We Die" in Clenching the Fists of Dissent.

Shame Machine Head went a bit naff after The More Things Change... inb4 LOL DURRR THEY WER NVA GUD DAYV, because fuck you with a rake. Not an old one.

I wished there would be some more "Violence" in machine head nowadays..
They don't really touch me with their lame supercharger, blackening etc.
Burn my Eyes still busts my balls everytime I listen to it! LET FREEDOM RING WITH DA SHUTGUN BLAST!!
That album defines for me the Metal/hardcore crossover. After that they didn't have any good ideas anymore that pushed the whole movement forward. I think I don't know and don't wanna judge but it's really sad Violence split up after the amazing Nothing to Gain. I think it's my favourite of them.

Nothing to Gain is your favourite? Seriously? I like it, but I'd never call it my favourite - it just doesn't sound like Vio-lence to me.

As for having more Vio-lence influence in machine Head, it'll almost certainly happen - not just because Phil's in the band now, but because they like to reuse old riffs. A lot. Burn My Eyes and the More Things Change are fucking stellar, but everything after that ranges from decent to utterly atrocious... Robb should've stuck to trying to mimic Biohazard.

Eternal Nightmare and Oppressing are of course great too but sometimes I miss the cathiness in Eternal Nightmare. But I like that alot too. Nothing to Gain is just superior with tracks like Atrocity, Killing my Words, Twelve Gauge Justice (my favourite track) etc. The slower riffs make the album so awesome!
About the Machine head topic I believe Biohazard have influenced Machine head for sure but for me "Urban Discipline" is the best output.. State of the world address is okay but after that they went into that bad boy and tough guy attitude which is just ridiculous. Don't get me wrong I've all records of them. Stick to Merauder's Master killer haha!
