Metal Church/The Spectre Within/Autumn Aurora
 
I could accept that, although I still don't think that Motorhead quite had the impact in the same way. All early extreme metal, from Slayer to Death to Bathory to Possessed to etc pretty much shot off directly from the first two Venom albums. I just don't want to see four Metallica and Megadeth albums in the top 100 when there are still other very influential bands/albums yet to make it.
 
I don't really enjoy Venom much myself and certainly love those albums, but I would like to see some semblance of quasi-objectivity in selecting albums. Right now there are only 36 albums officially entered and 20 more up for debate, yet we're already seeing a lot of double and triple entries. Of course, I voted for the second Metallica, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath albums featured but I dunno. When Venom, Motorhead, Voivod, Rainbow, Watchtower, Meshuggah, Helloween, Queensryche, etc aren't featured and people are deciding between Killing is My Business and SFSGSW, it just seems silly.

What the fuck? Do you actually think anything Voivod, Meshuggah or fucking Helloween did are the same caliber as one any of the early albums from Megadeth, Metallica etc??? :lol: ... Man o man.

...only album from those bands even worthy of being mentioned is Killing Technology(and that should come wayyyy later on), Dimension Hatröss and Nothingface aren't bad either but should not come close to being mentioned this early.

Motorhead, Venom and Rainbow definitely belong on the list ... and i can see why you would vouch for Operation Mindcrime, but i just cant fuckin stand Queensryche.
 
Uh, yes, I consider Killing Technology, Destroy Erase Improve, and the Keeper albums to have contributed far more to metal's development than the drugged-out and uninspired thrash of SFSGSW. Anyone without a personal bias against progressive and/or power metal should be able to realize that.

Killing Technology didnt contribute to the development of anything you nimrod, that's basically Voivod playing heavily punk influenced thrash.

Helloween's best album is Walls of Jericho, and its is a pure snoozefest and cannot even stand(let alone crawl) next to the albums that Metallica, Megadeth and Slayer were releasing at the time. The Keeper albums are the two albums that spawned a whole generation of crappy, forgettable flower metal bands ... i dont mind power metal, but not that gay ass flowery bullshit, no such albums belongs on this list.

And anyone that thinks Destroy Erase Improve or Chaosphere are some kind of revolutionary or contributing albums either have shit for ears or just werent listening to better bands at the time.

So what makes you consider Killing Technology their one album worthy of mentioning at all? "Heavily punk influenced thrash" could describe it, yes, but there's much more going on than that. Regarding Helloween, it's as I said, personal bias. Flowery bullshit or not, Helloween is pretty much the band that took what Rainbow, Accept and the relevant USPM bands had done and brought it into a form recognizable as European power metal. Even Megadeth fans generally recognize SFSGSW as blatantly weaker than their other '85-'90 albums.

And I didn't call Vol. 4 uninspired, just drugged out.
