He punched a coworker over a stupid meal. He deserves to get sacked. He might've been in a bad mood after a long day and was probably drunk, but it doesn't matter.
I feel however that Jeremy didn't want to continue. He has some personaly problems (allegedly) and if he wanted to continue, he would have apologized. Instead he was mocking the studio heads.
BBC had a difficult choice. I am not that negative about the future in terms of quality(not sure about ratings). Reduce the budget a bit (stop shooting in 2 different countries in every episode for example), freshen the show up a bit and get good presenters. This is the most difficult task, but I feel if they can get Rowan Atkinson, Stephey Fry, Jools Holland or similar guys (maybe mix it up with someone younger, might be nice target for jokes), they'd be just fine.
As for current party, I'm not sure about that. They should take a little break. I think if they are gonna do something together eventually, it's gonna be something smaller than Top Gear. I'd like it to be more personal, showing their garages/driving the cars they used to own. The show should be a bit more car-testing related. And I bet they're gonna go for commercial TV or something like Netflix(I'd prefer that).
