The Official Good Television Thread

Ill add Dr Phil to that list as well. Tyra Banks can suck me, too much about fashion and not enough about vampires and straight guys doing gay porn

Finally watched the first ep of Boardwalk Empire tonight, liked it muchly.

Been digging Harry & Paul lately as well. Old fashioned good & proper British sketch comedy.

cpl of FX shows

TERRIERS (drama / comedy). 3 episodes in and really diggin it so far. Ex cop teams up w/ an ex criminal...they start thier own private investigating ring. They know thier shit but both guys are pretty much messed up in many ways.

and Sons Of Anarchy. Slow start to new season but still very good of course.

I don't know what it is with Mitch Hurwitz and really rich people, but Running Wilde seems to be warmer and less cynical with its millionaire protagonist. I'm looking forward to how they expand the universe of the show. Not expecting it to hit AD heights, but it could be solid.

I haven't gotten into any other new programs this season. Rather weak. Well, the new Law & Order is still watchable, but I didn't see a problem with the old one. I suppose it was just cheaper to make in LA. Last year had some good debuts, with Community (funniest show on TV), Modern Family, and Cougar Town (rebounded from a poor start to be a really thoughtful show about relationships and getting older).

I finished watching the whole series of Deadwood for the third time a few weeks back. It actually gets better each time. E.B Farnum's character has the greatest fucking dialogue ever written. His scenes with Richardson are funnier than most comedies.

Started watching The Wire again. There goes my life for another month or two.

Apparently Deadwood was filmed in Colorado Springs and I was hoping for some sort of 'set museum' or anything but to no avail thus far

What's Jam? I haven't heard of it before.

best described as 'ambient comedy', very unsettling lynchish stuff from the mind of chris morris, but absolutely hilarious, never so weird that it stops being accessible. watch:

I watched those clips and a few others on youtube and ambient comedy seems to be a pretty accurate description. I wouldn't say that I really enjoyed it, but it's interesting stuff. Reminded me of sitting through hours of video art at uni for some reason. I do like Julia Davis though, the episode of People Like Us she was in was great, Human Remains and Nighty Night were pretty good too.
