I have a feeling this is either gonna be really awesome, or abominably poor. I'll reserve judgment for when I hear it, but expectations aren't high; I really hope Varg doesn't ruin My Journey to the Stars.

That's pretty much my thought process as well, I feel the same could be the said for Gorgoroth rerecording Under the Sign of Hell. Although I expect that to suck massively, so if that turns out to be anything other than a monumental failure I'll be surprised.

Yeah, there's another one I hope the respective band hasn't butchered.

I don't get the allure of rerecordings in black metal tbh; in a genre where the production plays such an important role in the music, when they go and completely strip the songs of that key facet, it just (usually) doesn't sit overly well with me.

I was really crossing my fingers HHR was going to re-release Acid Witch - Witchtanic Hellucinations on Halloween... guess I'm just going to be disappointed.

"New York’s seasoned Death Metal clan Immolation will be releasing a new EP (courtesy of Scion A/V Metal) on October 11th! “Providence” is 5 brand new original tracks, marking IMMOLATION’s 20th year of recording as a band."

Looking forwards to this, not sure if it will be a CD release or just a digital download. Majesty and Decay is an absolute masterpiece so hopefully they've come up with some more killer stuff.
