^ I have lived in the grim north before...
I am after all half canadian ;)

But, I hate Summer... I hate sweating, I hate humidity,
I hate bugs, I hate stupid people on summer breaks,
I hate the sun, I hate catching tan...
I love the beach though... thats the only good thing about summer.
oh, and drinking beer outdoors.

That about sums it up. I hate the beach too, though.

Seriously Erik is right. I would love to experience summer up in the North, just so I can confirm that it isn't always 90 degrees and 140% humidity.

the only thing I hate about the summer is the humidity.
I love it in Vegas for example ... it could be 110 degrees and it does not bother me.
but I need my damn beach and ocean ... there is really nothing like swimming in the ocean.

lurch: i noticed something like that driving through death valley on our way from vegas to yosemite park last summer: hottest place in this hemisphere, and its more bearable than a hot summer day in Toronto simply because it lacks even a trace of humidity! I love it!

yeah, its such a cliche but its true ...
on the other hand once i was in Laughlin, Nevada and it was literally past 120 degrees outside ... we were on some tour bus ... and just going from the bus to the inside of the hotel, I couldn't literally lift my head up ... it was that overwhelming ...
oh and that huge thermometer in Baker, CA ... on the road from LV to LA ... that does not help either in making you freak out.

Is it not awesome to be driving a couple of hours away from a huge metropolis and finding yourself in such a completely alien environment? Fucking freaked me out more than anything else...it was so different!

I agree with DL except...

I don't mind bugs.

I like beaches for the water... I just go to ones where nobody else goes.

I physically cannot tan. I burn and go back to paper white.

Beer DOES rule though.

Oh yeah I just had a flash of that PM you sent me. I was probably drunk when I read it...

Anyway I really need to find out what's happening that month, and if my parents will sponsor my "HEY IM GOING TO CHILL WITH A CANADIAN GUY" idea.

Toronto is not considered the "grim north"

it's at freakin 43 N 79 W, closer to the equator than to the North Pole.

hey it gets kinda cold here sometimes! nothing compared to the rest of the country though!
