Just did a good deed for the day. Our dogs were barking at something up in a tree, so we went to see what it was after a bit, and there was a robin hanging by it's neck from a branch. It got tangled up in the netting that was under some sod and then I guess it flew past the tree and got hung up. So we got him down, and after he quit trying to bite us, we cut it off of him and set him free. Hahaha.

Midnight sun bitches
Actually we don't live quite far enough north, but we've got sun from 02:42 until 22:40 (today, quite exactly in Nordmaling which is the closest small town to where those pictures were taken, 60km south of Umeå) this time of year though, will get a bit longer before it starts getting shorter again. Most of those pictures were very late or very early though, hence the lighting.
does it always look like fall or winter is approcahing in Sweden?

Summery!

but we've got sun from 02:42 until 22:40

holy crap ... so that is only like 4 hours of darkness?

if that happened here everyone would be working 18 hour days ... oh wait ... we already do that

Foder = lining I think, and flytväst is lifejacket.
Yeah, those two. Pardon my bad attempts, just tired and hungry (just had pizza though so not hungry anymore wee)

It doesn't get very dark really, the sun isn't far down when it's down y'know... I suppose we'll have to get some midnight photos soon so show ye all. And do remember that winter is the opposite - and most people work during the light hours.

yeah, not really quite here either. I've got a nice picture of an 11pm sunset from a guy that I know, so I'm assuming thats when it goes down right about now.

It's 9:33pm and the sun's still up, enough to piss me off through the window. Score.

well really, there's no real 'darkness'. It's just like the worst it will get is evening twilight like right after the sun goes down. (I think Umea is only a couple hundred miles in latitude higher than me, for comparison).

CandyAndy and Maren sent me a postcard. Here is the front:

How prophetic. Please pardon me while I go into the backyard and attempt self-decapitation with a chainsaw.
