The first is Hikone, on the coast of Lake Biwa. The second is Chikubushima, an island with some cool shrines and a pagoda. The rest are Takeshima, another island in lake Biwa. It's quite small and only has a temple. I really wanted to take more pictures but I was rushed and almost missed my damned boat as it was.

Out of curiosity, what camera/settings were you using? The texture and tones are extremely lively, especially the waters.

I just use a 6 megapixel Sony Cyber-shot. Today I was mostly switching between landscape and beach settings.
