I'm asuming that's St. John the Baptist.

I was paid by "my" church to paint one of these before because they found the gold plating in some bombed church in Russia but the original painted back was gone so I made a new one. Looked very similar to that, but older.... not that they vary much.

went to this "party" on Friday night ... I share an office wall with this guy ... as he is literally next door to me ...
this is all the pics I have ... took them as I walked in and ran for a camera as i felt as in a Kubrick flick ...
needless to say in about 30 minutes after this some amazing wimenz started coming in and I literally felt an orgy was about to
erupt in enough time ... anyway I pussied out and went home to my woman ... my friend satyed till the wee hours, but nothing really went down except

I went on a field trip with some people to the local Coptic Orthodox Church today. We stuck out like a sore thumb. Oh well.

Interesting people there. They had absurd amounts of incense and a lot of 'Lord have mercy's throughout the liturgy.

Fucking rad. I hate religion but love churches for their art. I would love to own some illuminated manuscripts someday, but I'd have to lock them up whenever listening to Vital Remains + beering for fear of their safety.

On paper, this always sounds awesome. In practice, you realize just how boring so-called artistic-types can really be, even if the 3% of them that aren't make it worthwhile digging through all the waded poo.

this dude is really succesful though ... I see him literally 4 times a year in his studio ... he has about 2 exhibits a year ... and sells a lot of that stuff for big $$$ .. those painted surfboards are about $40K a pop ...
