On a completely different note: I must say Pentax-cameras handles noise very good, looks more photoish than computerish, if you know what I mean

i think so too -- because the noise reduction is pretty harsh on the ugly chrominance (colour) noise but leaves most of the luminance noise which is more like film grain and preserves detail. i would much rather keep some noise than do like SONY's low-to-mid end slr cameras and smooth everything out so it looks like a fucken watercolor painting.

iso 3200 on my li'l old k100d super admittedly looks terrible though, at least in low light, but that's because it's not true 3200 -- it's 1600 pushed a stop in firmware. 1600 is fine, i use it indoors all the time.

the k20d is apparently pretty okay all the way up to 6400, especially for having such a stupid high resolution on an aps-c sensor.

I kinda regret not buying a pentax, I'm greatly intrigued by their lenses as well, but OH WELL, done is done and now I'm stuck with canon fo life where good lenses costs a fortune! :kickass:

i know. the lens compatibility and availability of old 60's-80's lenses rules, and also the fact that they all get shake reduced automatically. some of the all-metal limited primes like the 77/1.8 are fucking amazingly cool too (if you can afford them) and have no equivalent on other systems.

the cool thing is that you're not really stuck with canon either because you could sell your 30d now and probably make enough to buy a K20D new because it's like 6995 at cyberphoto which is the most ridiculous fucking price considering what you get. nikon d300 which is comparable in image quality and features is like almost 14000.

at the end of the day the camera still doesn't matter though, bärs som bärs det smakar ju lika

HEAVY METAL FOREVER! :kickass:

From the craziness of ice, to the craziness of fire. Victoria (the state in which I live) is currently being engulfed by flames. A combination of 47 C heat and gale force winds caused fires to start all over the state over the weekend, and there a few still burning. Whole town have been wiped out, towns like Marysville and Kinglake (where my uncle lives) in Victoria's north-east. Last I heard, there were 131 confirmed dead, with that figure expected to rise to around 200 or more.

To give you some idea of the enormity of the destruction:
