hahaha ... thanks M A R E N !

I have a pretty good digital cam (not SLR) that has advanced manual settings and I can play with it ... so will try that.
I realize that if the shutter stays open longer you have to have a steady hand + kinda make sure that there is not much movement to begin with in the shots.

So how do you get the live band shots so clear?

PS:  footbalm rules :kickass:

Here are some examples. Adjust exposure time according to lighting conditions and "degree of movement" on stage. Try to avoid too much red light because it'll make the pic all blurry: I took more than 100 pics during that Melody Club concert, but only about 10 turned out okay... :bah:

thanks Maren ... great tips!

this explains why photographers at live shows are always snapping away constantly ... personally I don't have the patience to do this ... but will definetelly use the manual settings of my camera more often now.

what camera do you use?

this lighting is really cool.
Yes, it is. Too bad the people in that venue weren't even half as cool. I left after ten minutes when the completely wasted owner of the place started arguing with me, and wanted me to hand over my camera. :guh: He was probably afraid I might have captured some of the dirty, illegal things going on in there...

My girlfriend FINALLY sent me the pics she and I took in Ireland back in May, so here's a few:
