Bonus points for recognizing all the song lyrics the above statement is pieced together from
I got Whiplash (had to look it up to confirm though), the "long hair" part I don't know.

Henrikmain's argument is only used to make shorthairs think that they aren't making compromises. Most metalheads genuinely want long hair but are afraid to not get as many chicks and/or get weird looks. There are a lot more guys with short hair than long hair. Since when is being in a minority following a trend when I genuinely like my long hair more than short hair? Although I agree individuality is not about the length of your hair, but then again I hate trendfags and want to look/be different from everything they are and represent.

I always headbang as a maniac at gigs, even with short hair. I've got one or two upcoming DVD releases to prove that :p Useless info about my personal life: Next gig up is Cannibal Corpse, Spawn Of Possession and The Allseeing I, 24.9. Amon Amarth was originally on this tour, but dropped out. Reason unknown.

I think my desire for long hair comes from hippy-envy, even though I fall into those other three categories.

I choose to have short hair simply because it's comfortable on my head. Also, I don't feel I'm making any compromises. I really want short hair.

Trends have nothing to do with being in the minority or majority. Gothic mallrats are in a minority, but it is a trend.

Would this not be considered following a trend?

BTW, the four groups most likely to have long hair are probably:
1) Metalheads
2) Computer geeks
3) Hippies
4) Musicians

Now I'm three out of four, more or less...

yeah, I'm three out of four too. Metalhead/Computer Geek/Musicians rule. \m/

How is having long hair an "anti-trend?" This isn't fucking 1960's America anymore.
It's easy to say that when you don't have long hair. Trust me, I see certain prejudices all the time (nothing massive, but still there) that I never noticed when I had short hair. I'm not saying I'm being revolutionary or anything, but...

Maybe it's also because I live in the Conservative Christian Southern America.

I think that's it, because when I had long hair and wore metal shirts and black clothes all the time, I never got strange looks from anyone.

All I know is this hair thing is pissing me off. It's gay, pointless, and shouldn't be some weird issue in a thread about what we all look like (...).

Anyhow, from this day forth, my butthairs will be longer than ALL OF YOURS PUT TOGETHER.

If I go to the local pub on a friday night I am one hundred percent certain I would get my ass kicked. Luckily I don't feel any desire to go there because it sucks. I'm fucking tired and in pain and I think we should gas all short-haired people fuck off
