Pretty decent. Intriguing but not what I generally go for.

Blind Guardian – Banished from Sanctuary - 5
I am not big on Blind Guardian.

Exodus – The Ballad of Leonard and Charles - 1
As TB put it... "average, generic ho-hum thrash metal."

The Chasm – Storm of Revelations - 10
The Chasm are death metal royalty imo.

Burzum – Key to the Gate - 10
Best song from one of his worse albums. Still gets a 10. Goes to show how solid Burzum's discography is.

Dread Sovereign – We Wield the Spear of Longinus - 7.5
I don't know why people are saying this is too long. This is manly as fuck and this justifies the length.

Iced Earth – Dante’s Inferno - 7
Not big on Iced Earth anymore but I still occasionally spin stuff from Burnt Offerings and Something Wicked. Dante's Inferno is a pretty solid piece.

Thunder Rider – Electric Chair - 6.5
Didn't jump out at me. Will need further listens.

Slayer - Payback - 1
The only payback I need is the three minutes I wasted listening to post-Seasons Slayer.

Starlight Ritual - Seal the Light - 6.5
Another one that didn't jump out at me. Will need further listens.

Its a little easier to give out a 1 if the ratings only go up to 5.

And as much as i dont care for that Exodus track, i have a heard time seeing how a metalhead can give it a 1.

I give 1s when a song or album collapses under the weight of its own mediocrity and lack of quality. When I actually get an audible laugh at how bad something is.

What my criteria looks like:

1 - Cannot take seriously at all.
2 - Pretty damn bad.
3 - Bad parts outweigh the good.
4 - Has some bad parts, but salvageable.
5 - Decent, still might not relisten later.
6 - Decent, will make a note and relisten later.
7 - Solid.
8 - This song rips hard.
9 - Fucking awesome.
10 - Musical genius.
