10) Taking The Music Back (Boring)
11) Crash (What???, even too bad for a filler)
12) Think About An End (Boring)
13) WCFYA (Boring)

@Stormwatch: Anthrax and Overkill generic??? Overkill is still one of the greatest Thrash bands ever, have you heard "Ironbound"? Anthrax was one of the greatest Thrash bands when they were a Thrash band but opinions are like a**holes.

Who said Overkill were bad? Or Anthrax for that matter?

People should understand what they mean when they spout bullshit.

Danny actually had very little to do with the actual composition of the older material, except the solos. And if you have any doubt of where his head is at just check out deux monkey or whatever its called
I'm probably one of the few who are glad that Danny's not in the band, although I wouldn't be surprised if he were to make an *ahem* occasional guest appearance.

Stomp 442 is a pile of commercial shit
It's really not. If the production were better, if they had cleaned up those grunge tones, and didn't process some of the vox, it'd be great. Damn, I hate the grunge movement.

The production screwed this song. The cool groove riff is buried.

Wow you people saying the Bushthrax records are bad have no clue.

And ironmaidenfan09, 1st of all, do you need to take a long road trip to listen to 4 albums?

And listening them once and probably skipping songs is what you consider giving them a fair chance?

I don't think anyone said it was just John Bush's fault that the band went downhill. Sure he was the vocalist during that period so sure he was part of the issue. But even if Joey sang on those albums they still would have tanked. Bad song writing, bad productions... complete change in sound.

And the part about Joey's solo album not going platinum. Thats just ridiculous. I am a fan of Joey in Anthrax, but even I don't own that album. Anthrax is who I like. Not just the singer. The band changed and thats why I really stopped liking them. Not because of Joey or John per se.

Durring that time of Grunge, Groove, Industriel and Nu-Metal Anthrax was not going to wash off that 80's label. Nobody was listening to that stuff anymore. Joey would have just made it worse.
Anthrax fell out of the spotlight in 90's because they were steriotyped.
Best thing they could have done was changed names when John joined the group.
If they had changed thier name to Listeria or Ecoli, it wouldn't have been that big of a deal when Anthrax's original line up reformed. We could have two bands today.
But anyway.... that's not what happened.

Opinions are opinions nobody can say who likes something and who doesn't like something. HOWEVER. There is no denying that Anthrax changed their sound (Fairly drastically) once John Bush joined the band. That over all change in sound (both musically and vocally) is why most old school Anthrax fans that were in those stadiums during the POT don't care for the Bushthrax era of the band.

I have listened to those albums many times before. I just wanted to revisit them and give them another chance. Even after reading some of the posts on here and I have gone back and listened to Stomp. My original opinion was that this was a horrible record. I couldn't even get through it the first time. So I just gave it a 3rd chance and have to say that it's even worse than I thought. That album is total shit. If that is your style of music you like then good for you. But this just is not what I have come to expect from Anthrax. Then Vol 8 as well. It starts of with a few pretty decent songs then just is garbage song after garbage song.

If you can really sit her and say that Stomp and Vol 8 are on par with Among The Living, and Persistence of Time then I guess this discussion ends here because your opinion of what good Anthrax music is is so far off the map that there is no point in discussing

I'd love to know why you wouldn't want Dan Spitz to be part of this band. Did you not enjoy the albums he played on? I mean they were only some of the best Thrash albums of all time. I can see why you wouldn't want him to play for this band, being that he is one of the foundations of the band.

And yeah if the production was better, vocals weren't bad, there were no grunge tones, had better song writing, good guitar riffs, just about any song by any band would be good. WtF are you talking about?

Hear ye, hear ye: Dan Spitz circa NOW...1:40m

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GZQzJnw7Aqg&feature=related

FUCK.

THIS.

SHIT!

What is your point? That Spitz can't do other projects? He has lost his skills? Every musician branches out and does experimental shit from time to time.

Spitz is the best guitarist Anthrax has ever had. Even stuck around after John Bush joined. But got out once the rest of the band wanted to go a totally different direction.

Someone somewhere either mispoke or got their facts wrong and ever since people have been under the impression that SOWN has gone platinum. First of all, you can check the RIAA's website where it clearly only has it on the record as going gold. Also, here are the numbers: http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=1871

Note that this was 8 years ago, and at this point all Bush albums are out of print. People say it outsold the Joey albums beause it was their highest charting album, hitting the top 10. Remember, misguided media outlets said the same thing about the Hagar era VH albums, which all charted higher than the Roth albums, but the DLR releases outsold Hagar's 2 to 1. And although the Joey albums only went gold as well, unless all 4 certified sold between 500,000 and 511,104 it looks like they weren't outsold.
