TRIGGER Intro Video and NEWS

Shouldn't have bought them then. You should be totally stoked that you get Trigger Platinum for 50% off even if you bought EX for $0.50 or whatever that ridiculous deal was. The plugin alone should sell for at least $150 based on competitive products so don't be a bitch. I bought Platinum for $350 and I'm not complaining.

Maybe you should be... I know I wish I never bought Platinum for $350.

For this deal, there's no distinction between somebody who spent $350 for Platinum and somebody who just bought the EX deal for $20.

$350 + $150 = $500

$20 + $150 = $170

That's a huge difference... and all the same samples and features. Considering I don't like the cymbals included with Platinum and prefer using Superior 2.0/Metal Foundry to program drums and sample replacing with Slate to beef them up... I would have been way better off just having Trigger Platinum with its samples. $330 better off to be exact.... I don't really see why someone who spent $20 is open to the same deal as someone who spent $350.

By the way, someone in this thread said wavs aren't coming with Trigger. I thought Slate said more than once that Trigger would come with the wavs?

I'm pretty sure they would have to be included, at least somewhere in one of the directories for trigger, since it has to access and use them in the software.

I think someone is just confused, since Slate said that 'gogs' wouldn't be included, for obvious reasons.

Not necessarily... they could have been converted into a trigger format, like .trg or something like that, and the program could read the wavs from within those files, without us being able to access the individual wavs (because of not having a way to extract them from the trigger files)...

Yeah but I bought Platinum like 1.5 years ago, Trigger wasn't available so I didn't have a choice :p Yeah, it is sort of a bummer that dudes who bought EX get the same deal as me but whatever, I had the Platinum samples for a long time before they did and I paid for that privilege.

For me anyways, if Trigger does what it claims it is worth $150 for the plugin. Whatever sample libraries I get with it are a cool extra. If there was no discount offered for current users, I would just be buying Trigger EX for $150 and making my own Trigger files for the Slate samples I wanted to use out of my WAVs, so getting Trigger Platinum for the same price is cool to me and saves me the hassle.

I am paying for the plugin, not the samples. Helps me sleep at night to think of it that way! Yeah, in hindsight I wish I hadn't bought Platinum, had waited and got EX for $20, then bought Trigger Platinum for $150, but there's a lot of things I bought before they went on sale, not a big deal, that's life. Oh I wish I hadn't spent $2000 on my 486 with 4mb of RAM in 1995, now for $900 I can get a custom i7 quadcore machine with 6GB of RAM! Damn I'm such an idiot :loco:

This is what I'm expecting. Also don't really care, I already have all the wavs ;) Even if I didn't I wouldn't care. I print all my sample tracks anyways so if I need one hit it's not exactly hard to copy and paste it from the printed track :p

Yeah, true. Still though, it'd be more reasonable to let people who bought EX for $20 and ALL the expansions (to basically make them a Platinum owner) have access to this $150 deal along with people who bought Platinum before then.... but letting someone who only payed $20 for a few samples have the same deal is kind of a slap in the face.

Any of you who only spent $20 or even $70 or $120 or whatever should feel EXTREMELY LUCKY that you have access to the same deal as people who payed $350. You guys are getting a way better deal than us....

The proper way of doing that is to insert Trigger on an audio track and route the output of the MIDI track to that instantiation of the plug-in. This way it triggers from the MIDI file, yet your audio output is on an audio track, as it should be.

Given that Trigger has 'Midi In' functionality, this should be a no brainer.

Nah man,

I'm talking about just using as an isntrument triggered straight from Midi.

the projects I mix don't often involve acoustic drums, so i'd get more use out of Trigger by just using it as an awesome "Kick & Snare" instrument.

I'm guessing probably not... because if they did that, it'd be competing with their own SSD VSTi (kontakt)...

Or how about tricking them into spending $100 on expansion packs last week for no reason whatsoever now.

That's what I'm pissed off about.

If it had been months ago then whatever but doing that a week before when he knew what the Trigger offer was going to be is just a dick move, and he knows it. I was planning on buying Trigger but not now. In 1 week between what I spent on Expansion packs, an ilok now I'd have to get, plus Trigger will now cost me $300. I'm just gonna get Drumagog.

i've been thinking about hitting a girls face with my cock, record it and trigger superior 2.0 samples using the recorded track.
will this work with TRIGGER!?

To be honest, I bet he probably didn't know what the deal was going to be until recently. He probably didn't decide on the price or who all would be incuded in it until a few days ago. haha.

I do think it's total bullshit though that anyone who only spent $20 gets access to the same deal.

Maybe so, but Kontakt blows.

It'd be pretty misleading if it turned out the "Midi I/O" was actually just "Midi /O"

Yeah... I guess it depends on what exactly they mean by "Midi I/O"...

Kontakt really isn't that bad though. There are a lot of really good virtual instruments that use Kontakt as the sampler... like the new Alicia Keys piano VSTi for example. I think it has more to do with how well the scripting is written than Kontakt itself...

If you guys don't like the way the deals are being offered, then don't buy TRIGGER and shut the fuck up! Seriously. Everyone who bought the EX deal and the expansions knew TRIGGER was coming out (and that it was going to include the samples you just bought), and if you paid $350 for Platinum when it came it, well, sucks for you, but software depreciates over time, just like any other product on the market. If you buy when it first comes out you pay a premium. IN ANY MARKET. WITH ANY PRODUCT. I bet the people that bought the iPhone when it first came out for $600 are pissed that you can buy them now for under $200. Get over it.

What velocity will the cock slap be? And might there be some leakage? Without knowing the answer to those questions, I'm still confident the answer is YES. Good question.

Hahahaha, amazing.

For the MIDI guys, if you watch the video there is clearly a section in the settings about midi INPUT and it can be on/off, so I imagine with midi input turned on, you can trigger it from midi much like Drumagog can. Would be cool to get confirmation I suppose but I am 99.9999999% sure it will trigger from MIDI, that's how I intend to use it most of the time to be honest.
