USA vs Europe

Most of the times concerts are cancelled because local Christian/public interest groups kick up a fuss and whoever operates the venue doesn't want to bring themselves into discredit so they cancel the concert.

This happens very rarely here.

For no legitimate reason, I'm sure. Propagating the myth that the human body is something to be ashamed of is one of the most harmful act humanity has ever committed unto itself.

I wouldn't my kids to see pics of naked women until a decent age.

To be honest, there are a ton of teenagers that are mature enough to view content like that.

Well said, original sin or not, it is absolutly absurd to think of our bodies as something to be ashamed of.

You're associating nudity with pornography. :erk:

That is one of the major cultural gaps between Europe and the US that I've always found interesting.

In Europe most people don't find nudity in itself shocking and neither is it implicitly considered sexual. It all depends on context. So yes, in most European countries you could see bodyparts on TV during daytime without anyone caring. Sexual nudity is mostly reserved for late night programming. As a European I've always found America's views regarding nudity/sex and violence somewhat odd. It seems that in American culture children are shielded from nudity and sex to the point of complete paranoia yet violence is everywhere.

I remember when that Janet Jackson nipple thing (I refuse to use the world "nipplegate") happened everyone here was somewhat confused what the fuss was all about. Sure it was kind of tasteless and unnecessary but the outrage in the American media was completely disproportionate to the actual incident.

I'm not saying that the body is something to be ashamed of, I just think that there are ages when children aren't mature enough to see things like that.

Why? Because they'll like it? It's just a case of old decrepit morality that has lived on for some unknown reason.
