What was the first ever metal album you ever bought?

Vulgar Display of Power - Pantera
Master of Puppets - Metallica
Strapping Young Lad - Alien

all at once.

Van Halen - 1984

If that counts. It did for me, then.

Other early contenders were V/A - Masters of Metal (my first exposure to Maiden, Sabbath, Dio...)and The Best of Judas Priest (the OLD one).

lol

opeth - blackwater park :/

which to be honest is an early teenage embarrassment on par with (hypothetically) liking good charlotte

I bought Metallica Ride the Lightning the day it came out!

I also remember when Diary of a Madman came out.

My first metal album though? Probably Judas Priest Hell Bent for Leather or Iron Maiden's self titled...

I honestly can't remember. I think it was ...And Justice for All on cassette when it came out. It took me a while to actually buy anything, I used to get all my music on dubbed cassettes off friends and record songs off the radio. I also wore an onion in my belt, as was the style at the time. :zombie:

The Kovenant - S.E.T.I.

that was the first album I bought only because I couldn't find all the songs to download it.

My first honest metal purchase was Borknagar's Quintessence and The Archaic Course. They still remain some of my favorite albums of all time.
