The slipping-off-the-lap thing depends on which one you get. The thicker bodied models are terrible with that. The one I got is the thinnest body design they make and it sits pretty comortably. In all fairness, Ovations do play pretty nice, can feel nice depending on the model and player, and can sound pretty good plugged in. I just can't get too into them because they don't have the depth, tone, volume, etc. that I look for in a good acoustic. I'm planning on getting a Breedlove this summer though. I love those things.
But yeah, with the return policy thing, should turn out fairly well. I'm looking forward to getting this guitar just so I can return it in a month and get some new pedals
