And people wonder why they hate us ...

I seriously hope your kidding and don't really believe any of that crap you just uttered.

A somewhat disturbing video, but I'm not completely surprised; we've seen before what bored soldiers will do for fun. Just because they have kids that blow us up, doesn't mean we should turn around and be pricks. We're supposed to be showing them how to be better people.

Oh I don't, but i'm just saying, the situatian could have been total slaughter, slavery pillaging and destruction.

Remember fellas, the majority of people who join the military ( Middle of the country morons) have the I.Q of the average 14 year old.

I'm not surprised at all.

I'm not surprised, I'm saddened. How can we even begin to think we're bringing peace to the region when soldiers behave like that. They should take a huge ice cooler with them every time they go out and toss water bottles to all the kids they can.

I honestly don't think that the US can "win" anything over there, we've completely blown it and we're just making it worse.

Your forgetting that the American soldiers have handed over money, farming equipment and protection to the poor. Most soldiers aren't dicks to the kids, and alot of them hand out toys and the like.

Thats like saying everyone in a black metal band burns churches and worships satan.

No it's not, it's like saying a couple dickheads that burn churchs can make a whole genre look bad to those who don't know any different.

Every person we treat badly over there knows other people and they talk. So every act, whether kindness or callousness, will have its effect multiplied. If none of our soldiers ever acted like jerks, they would have a lot harder time recruiting people to fight us, because we really would be the good guys we think of ourselves as. FWIW, I agree with what you said about it could have been far worse if it wasn't us doing the occupying, I just don't think of that as an excuse for the way we've treated those people.

The occupation has been completely mismanaged from the second Bremer took over. Firing the whole Iraqi army and police, along with the de-Baathification of the government was the most retarded thing they could have done. This war has been a lost cause for a very long time, how many people have to die before it is over is largely up to us, and these braindead idiots teasing kids for fun are just helping to crank up the body count. When I think about the people that won't be coming home because these losers needed to blow off steam that kinda irritates me.

^I agree with you. Sadam was a terrible guy who ran an oppressive regime, but at least it was stable and secular. The way our government mismanaged the aftermath of shattering that stable and secular government has caused the mess we are in now and frankly is embarrassing.

I complete agree. Saddam was an oppressive tyrant that murdered his way to the top (with the help of the CIA), but at least with Saddam it was possible to stay off his shit list. Every home had portraits of Saddam, taxis would have little portraits, you could even get Saddam wrist watches. You just had to appear loyal and not be a threat to his power and you could live your life in relative peace (until we started the sanctions after the first war). But with us in power all bets are off, anyone can die anytime. Zero stability. And there's no path that leads to peace, no one wants to cooperate, everyone wants it all.

We're so completely screwed and we have no one to blame but ourselves, we did it!

I, to some extent, agree; Although I would never defend Saddam, the fact is that some people were happy with him as leader; it was a ridgid theocratical dictatorship with no freedom of religion or expression or speech, but that is what some people like. I dont like it, but that is because I have been raised in a free country. Freedom isnt the only way, freedom leads to dissent and insecurity and change and it is overrated and seldomly works with force.

Alot of people admire what brezhnev did with the Soviet Union and despise what Gorbachev did, even though they are now free and can read the new york times; but who cares? If they were happy living the way they were who are we to say otherwise. Surely if any society become so terrible then the people would become discontent and want change, that is when foreign forces should step in and help a country to democratise; not come in tell them to change and expect that they are going to lift their game.

Yeah, actually... Freedom is the only way. Your completely wrong.

haha and you have fuck corporations in your sig, dumb arse.

Communism, socialism and anarchy are all three very different things.

But thanks for once again proving my reserves about the human race.

You see, I'm against government control... but I'm also against corporate control or religious control. I fit nicely into the anarchist slot. And if you think anarchy isn't feesible, I don't care, so don't bother telling me. If people are allowed to beleive in an array of many armed gods, a virgin giving birth to a water waking superman that got owned by a couple of peices of lumber, or an invisible man in the sky staring down at you waiting for you to fuck up and throw you into hell, I can believe in something far less outlandish.

Just so were clear on terms.

Have you read Derrick Jensen's book Endgame? I think you'd find it interesting.

Anarchy is feasible just not likely. It isn't very pretty but it would work.
