And people wonder why they hate us ...

The other major powers in the world are not helping in Iraq because the Bush administration has flown by the seat of their pants for the entirety of the flight with a middle finger sticking out of the window. What, France doesn't think we should invade Iraq? FUCK THAT, WE'RE EATING FREEDOM FRIES! Germany too? HEY KIDS, TONIGHT WE'RE EATING FREEDOM DOGS! Nobody supported our decision to invade Iraq, but many were willing to help rebuild it. We drove people away, and now there's a stigma on Iraq, so nobody wants to help. It's entirely the US' fault that Iraq is in the condition that it is in and that there are so few left willing to do anything about it.

the terrorists are way worse to the people than we are and we get blamed for doing them a favor

Comparing atrocities seems a little complicated and probably too subjective to come to any undeniable conclusion, but I would suggest that by the virtue of how long we've been abusing Iraq that we (the west in general, and the USA specifically) have done far worse to the people of Iraq than any terrorists ever could.

I'm guessing that the favor you refer to was deposing Saddam Hussein. Some favor. It would have been nicer of us if we'd never helped to put him in power and then helped to keep him there and helped him use poisonous gas on the Kurds and Iranians. It's kinda like if you make a mess at a friends house... are you doing them a favor by cleaning it up, or should you have never made the mess in the first place?

If the USA would like to be the good guys there's a LOT of work to be done and from all appearances no one is really interested in doing it. It's a lot easier and more profitable to keep abusing Iraq and the people that live there.
