There are 2400 people in Finland with the surname Latvala so probably not, but it's still possible of course.
I like the melody. Reminds me more of Wintersun than COB, but that might be because you mentioned Teemu
glad you like it dude. just discovered them myself. i really like most of the album chariot, emporer, death, cups, tarot all solid tracks. i tried their first album but i dont like it as much as this one. they also got a new album coming out soon, not sure how thats gonna be but we'll see.

I did a quick listen but I'm not a big fan of this kind of music. They are talented, but they sound like any other band in this genre. After rushing through all of those songs it feels like I've heard most of those songs anywhere before.
The Chariot sounds cool though
arcane, you got any good recommendations? your picky just like me haha. there arent a lot of bands that i really like unfortunately. also, i know what you mean about them kind of sounding like other bands, its true, but these guys are better. you gotta listen to the whole songs though. they add a lot of little things throughout the songs that give it a lot of extra color etc maybe give it another go.
Many times i dont like things on the first listen. in fact even some bodom albums i had to spin a bunch of times before i fell in love but once i did it was love for life.

Nah, not really. Besides Bodom, I mostly listen to 80s/90s rock and metal
or bands like The black dahlia murder, black label society, Arsis, Gojira, Symphony X. I also like the good old 90s dance and of course charts from 70s-90s.

@akamouzis I've just very recently discovered Avatar and I am absolutely in love with everything they did since Black Waltz. Honestly, one of the most underrated band I know, and definitely something that had been missing from my life. I would put them on the same level as CoB for me in term of how much I like them. And that's the only band with Dethklok that ever got there.
My guitar has been restrung and downtuned to B Standard just so that I could play some Avatar songs.

Yah dude avatar is phenomenal! they really should be more well known then they are. They put out real quality music! cant wait for the new album to drop!

Never tried Necrophagist, Spawn of possession, Gorod... ?
Those might be the best three bands amongst the masters of melody, harmony, groove and riffing I know and digged. More brutal/tech death than bodom which is on the rock side, but some of the best compositions I know.
Hard to pick one album to start for each, but if you're interested, maybe Epitaph (necrophagist), Noctambulant or Incurso (Spawn of possession) and A Maze of recycled Creeds (Gorod).

So there is/was (Don't know if they exist anymore) this Chinese band named "Fearless". They have this one song where the chorus is so Bodom I could have sworn it was them. The song is called "Darkness Swallowed" and is found at 15:52

Yeah that's Follow the Reaper worship for sure, wish the vocals were better but sounds pretty good.

Reaper is definitely present here. I think these vocals add a bit of a blackened edge to it which I enjoy personally. Granted, I can certainly see why they are not all that attractive
