Has anyone here heard Sauron (hol) newest album the channeling void? Some really good black metal with a very good (by good not glossy, but fitting of black metal) and just a very good release overall.

Great album.

Scalding Coldness is alright, but Where The Snows Are Never Gone is really miles beyond it. Listen to it fucker.

I recently received Emperor-'Emperor', on vinyl and it kicks a lot of ass. I have always loved the sound and production of 'Emperor'. The keys have different sound, as compared to ITNE. I really like how Ihsahn's vocals sound on this release as well.

Does anybody else think Ildjarn gets a little too raw for the ears?

It took about two years of intense Black Metal listening until I could truly appreciate Ildjarn. Even then, I could only listen to Det Frysende Nordariket and Forest Poetry (the former now being among my favourite albums of all time). Now, I can listen to everything he's recorded without a problem. The self-titled is absurdly raw, but it works. I love the primal nature of the music; no fucking bullshit, just raw Black Metal in it's most pure form.

Yup I like it. My main problem is with the few chugging riffs they used. The other parts of the album were very good.

It takes some time to get used to it. Same as Wolven Ancestry and December Wolves(I love both of these bands) they use kind of much of distortion on their sound, or I don't know wtf that is.
