i find recent graveland largely predictable, really really catchy but it gets boring so quickly. plus i always tend to go for subtle/primitive/dark/seductive over bombastically epic these days.

of course 'thousand swords' remains my favourite, a total anomaly not just in darken's discography but in metal as a whole, absolutely inspired and a hundred miles ahead of all other 'pagan' metal
