I love them, way better than Satyricon and I wouldn't really say they sound that similar either. Any band that has a song about Ix has to be great.

They're alright, earlier stuff is considered classic iirc, newer shit is cleaner and I believe also lacks Attila.

The early Ildjarn stuff is not as raw as I was led to believe. The melodies are all so easily recognized that it's pretty easy to digest on first listen.

Det Frysende Nordarriket is a kind of compilation (of demos) too.
I think it is not that good. And it is difficult to get for a reasonable price.

Listening to Ordo Ad Chao. I think I enjoy this album more than most. I think it is wonderfully dark and I love the production. It sounds so claustrophobic and evil. Atilla rules as well.
