Covenant's In Times Before the Light is good symphonic black metal, Nexus Polaris is fairly shit.
Ophthalamia's first two albums are great.
Ophthalamia's first two albums are great.
I find Burzum rip offs to be the most enjoyable of black metal clone bands.
Opinions on Covenant's first two albums ? And Opthalamia ?
time for me to be hanging onto my money and not buying any music.

I've really enjoyed that Lugburz song lately, I heard a song off the album Lugburz and it had a low fi raw feel to it.Stronghold and Minas Morgul. I can't play favorites between. "Lugburz" is their greatest song.
Indie Recordings has announced the signing of SARKE, the Norwegian band featuring Sarke (KHOLD, TULUS, OLD MAN’S CHILD, SENSA ANIMA) and Nocturno Culto (DARKTHRONE).SARKE might sound like a new name, and in fact it is, but this grim story has more pages than one first might think.Formed in 2008 by its namesake Sarke, who has spread his angry art through KHOLD, TULUS, OLD MAN’S CHILD and SENSA ANIMA, SARKE is a mesmerizing journey through dark and soothing soundscapes, inspired by legends like MAYHEM, SLAYER, DARKTHRONE, CELTIC FROST, BLACK SABBATH, CANDLEMASS, DEATH, MOTÖRHEAD and KREATOR. For this musical quest, Sarke wanted to create music that has inspired him since he got into the extreme metal scene, and thus Nocturno Culto from the mighty DARKTHRONE was brought on board, making the core of the project complete. All music and lyrics are written by Sarke, but adding Nocturno’s legendary voice to these songs, has without a doubt added another dimension to the grimness. The debut album, “Vorunah”, was recorded in November, and even though the album was recorded in old-fashioned ’70s style to get the true vibe of the music, “Vorunah” was produced by Sarke with Lars-Erik Westby.
Yes sir! One of the best current bands.Been spinning Negative Plane's Et In Saecula Saeculorum a fair bit lately. Excellent stuff. Orgasmic even. Those vocals especially...

Looks like Nocturno Culto and Sarke from Tulus and Khold have a new band together that is named, well, Sarke(?). They even are playing live.
