COB start writing new album

Halo of Blood has it all, yes - but I feel like I'm not gonna keep on playing the songs over and over again like I did with Children of Bodom's other stuff.

I can understand that feeling as I got the same for the HoB song.

And wow! WoS sounds really great, not a song I would only play a few, but some billions times for sure :D

I must admit that the samples sound really fuckin interesting. but im really trying not to get too excited because between the samples and the full songs a lot can go wrong.
but i have my fingers crossed

Wow i can tell wast of skins is just a hate me like! even if i dont like the first RRF-ish past as mentionned joonas. but i will judge after listening to the whole song. (i hated transference chorus melody, but i'm enjoying it now!)
Scream for silence have some "banned from heaven" vibe. its kinda weird and dark which is not my tast of bodom.

This sounds like a less thrashy Are You Dead Yet album with some sinergy spice. Need more songs asap... nothing like new COB music for gyming.

Scream for Silence gets pretty EPIC from what you can hear while they're talking in the video. There's definitely some heavy thrash in there that sounds similar to worst parts of roundtrip, though.

It's true, Bodom has the heroic energy and malicious aggression and superior techniques that's good for workout music... turn on FTR and you can scoop endless amounts of mental energy from it.

wos sound like that song.
for people who dont know solerrain, they play the same bodom style (hcdr)

they re great even if sometimes they rip off all alexi solos ( they did it on a song on the album a dont remember it, they ripped off a whole sinergy solo )

actually the solo i mentienned is on this song 2:34

Man that WOS meoldy is similiar to 3 of their songs :
1- Hate me!
2- Needled 24/7
3- Bastards of bodom
which one will be the closest?

Just because it's a relatively low played melody doesn't make it Hate Me, and to be honest I feel like WOS' melody is pretty fucking amazing. Jury's still out on SFS for me, I'll have to wait for the full song. Can't wait for HOB with studio sound also.

And don't you forget that we're guaranteed to have one Jeff Waters' solo, which never failed to deliver.

^Good to hear that. Cos we really don't need an outsider guitarist to make COB good.

I guess the samples for Bodom Blue Moon and The Days are Numbered will come up in 7 long hours.

well yeah, but tbh the last two albums were average/boring in terms of solos :(
ps: i see some Peter's influence here as Outnumbering the Day is a great Bloodbath song of Tagtgren's period.

7 hours? No we'll have to wait more than that for the part 2 of track by track.
I think NB usually released those like 6-7 days apart from each other?

EDIT: Yeah, the ''facebook questions'' videos were uploaded 6 days apart, so probably we'll have to wait until Monday for the next one.

Yep, we're a month and a week apart from the release, so 2 more album song reviews to come in the next two weeks, then I guess the Transference video and then it's 2 weeks of anticipation and wait for the actual album.

My opinions on the track-by-track pt.1

Waste of Skin:

Hilarious melody. Little metalcore vibe in it. Nice and free feeling going on, the most potential song of these three one. Probably one of the best tracks from the album.

Halo:

Definitely not Bodom's best work. Riff's are pretty rip-off sounding and mediocre, not very Bodomish though. The song has good basis for a great track, but it's missing something.

Scream For Silence:

Hmmm... no. Really bad vocals, sorryass mid-tempo and totally forgettable chorus. I just simply didin't like it.

Waste of Skin has really good melody, it does have potential, but i doubt that it's going to be in the top 3 songs of the album.

Halo of Blood is nice change for usual bodom songs, but it also has a lot of predictable parts in it, which i don't like.

Scream for Silence has a nice vibe in it, but the vocals do suck. Reminds me a little bit of RTHAB. The solo sounds juicy, though.

One thing I'm both surprised and excited about, is the diversity of vocals. I mean, we have the heavy almost old-school growls in Halo of Blood, the slightly different vocals in the verses of Transference, the somewhat thrash vocals in SFS, supposedly unique vocals in Dead Man's Hand on You and then the more regular vocals throughout the rest of the tracks (I assume).
