HOB sounds definitely better than Transference for me. And it would be indeed a great opener but only with that short bit before the actual song starts. That what we heard in the radio rip. For some reason I liked it pretty much when Alexi screams out "new music!".... Btw. what did he say after new music? I can only understand something like gulligulligoo

No it was just from the radio. "New music" and the name of the program "Liquid metal". Alexi already mentioned, tho, what are the movies or TV shows the three samples on the album are from...

so apparently the album comes out on the 29th of may in japan. not long now.

Where'd you hear this? If that's true then there's only two weeks to go.

edit: They seem to have changed it. There was a Japanese release date there before, right next to the other ones.

It does says May 29th on the wiki page for the album, but you can't always trust Wikipedia.

There's one from Twin Peaks and another from Children Of The Corn. Not sure what the 3rd sample is though.

If the Japanese release really is this close, now might be a good time to start saying this:
If you get the album, great. But do not, I repeat do NOT ask for links, or worse, share links (publicly).
Common sense, but every time there are a couple of people doing this.

I'm undecided on whether I will wait for the CD or not. Maybe I can wait one evening, but if there's leaks like a week or two early... not gonna happen, too fucking long time. I can imagine four days as absolute limit for my patience. It's stressful to be afraid all the time if I somehow lose my ability to hear and then I could never hear it. But the important thing is whether it's good or not, but I'd like the full CD fresh...

Today, I was in math class and I started to hum the Bodom Blue Moon guitar melody, the one that starts when Alexi talks. Now I'm listening to the sample over and over, it got me.

For now, I really dig and like Waste of Skin, HOB, Scream for Silence, Transference, BBM and Dead Man's, so the album is doing it right, atleast for me.

I don't lie if I say that HOB will beat up the last 3 albums and maybe Something Wilde. Of course, I always need some time to relate the songs with some particular moment or whatever to love them more, that is what I love about music.

I know Alexi isn't winning any awards for his vocal performances, but I'm seriously impressed with his execution on Halo of Blood.

I hope the rest of the album holds up in those regards.

This guy does a track-by-track review of the new album. Seems legit but he doesn't mention the last 3 songs off the album so I'm not so sure...

Plus everything he does say about the songs we could already tell from hearing the samples.
