COB start writing new album

I wasn't as impressed with these intros as I would've liked to be. It's still promising and I need to hear the full tracks. But I know it won't get 5/5 from me, but there's still chance of the 4/5 region. I hear more melody-less thrashy riffing than I'd like to, which is also killing the epicness, but I like the soundworld and there seems to be a satisfying degree of musical momentum, as long as the thrash doesn't take over... need to hear the complete songs first.

My favourites so far (discluding Halo and Transference):

Bodom Blue Moon
One Bottle and a Knee Deep
Scream for Silence
Dead Man's Hand On You
Waste of Skin

Most of the songs sound HCDR-ish so far. i feel some similarities with naildown and tracedawn somehow.
the sample sounds very low quality and i feel i fucked up the album by listening to them :(
wont listen to them again till release (i hope)

Most forms of modern and 90's extreme metal are somehow influenced by 80's thrash metal, whether you want to accept it or not. The classic Bodom albums have lots of thrash riffing too, but most people are paying attention to the melodies instead. I think you're making to big of a deal out of it.

I'm not going to listen to the samples as 45 seconds is a bit too long to keep the songs fresh when listening to the album the first time. But just reading these posts makes me extremely happy.

Bodom Blue Moon
One Bottle and a Knee Deep
Scream for Silence
Dead Man's Hand On You
Waste of Skin

Damage and Twisted doesn't exist for you? haha

And DMHOY is soooo good man!

Waste of Skin: It looks like I'm the only one who thinks Waste of Skin sounds incredibly gay  You can legitimately dance to that melody

Scream for Silence: Sounds kinda cool, makes me think of slayer. I guess that's why it's a similar title to "Silent Scream"

Bodom Blue Moon: Awesome intro, sounds like a lot of fun to play too

The Days are Numbered: Really does sound like Dissection, got an old-school-ish vibe too, I think it'll be cool.

Dead Man's Hand on You: Fucking Anders Friden man, sounds soooo much like him. Can't wait for this one

Damage Beyond Repair: Pretty dark, sounds fucking cool.

All Twisted: I had such high hopes for this songs there's no way it'd live up to them, but it was alright.

One Bottle and a Knee Deep: I though this song was gunna suck ass, but it's actually really cool

I don't get the In Flames comparisons. They were/are the only big Scandinavian band I never got in to. Nothing against them, I just don't know any of their music, save for a few songs like Moonshield and Pinball Map.

What In Flames song does Alexi sound like?

One thing i like about this album is even if riffs are trashy, it's full of leads and melodies on them like old schools COB.
Wast of skins : Main melody is good, i dont like intro. Whish they had started with the melody directly.
Scream for silence : catchy as F***, one of my favs
Bodom Blue Moon : bodom beach terror part2 , tie my rope part2
THE DAYS ARE NUMBERED : this song is very promissing, its full lead. sounds Hatebreed ish
Dead man hands on you : peacefull song. Old school Inflames like
Damage beyond repear : Intro sounds like tracedawn/Naildown (check Art of Violence - Tracedawn)
All twisted : had high hope for this, sounds like a Warmen song. still waiting for the potential best chorus of the album.
ONE BOTTLE AND A KNEE DEEP : sounds like nothing to me
