COB start writing new album

Guys, I can't understand OBAAKD halp! Sounds to crude and primitive, what am I doing wrong?

Now I can really say I'm in love with the album.

I've been listening to it for 2 days non-stop and I can say that could be on my top 4 (with the time it could be my fav, who knows).

The songs are really hard to love them at the very first listening, at least for me.

Damaged, Twisted and Bottle has some fucking parts that I love them to death, very very good songs.

Dead Man's was a bit boring at first, but I listened the song in the correct place and in the correct time and u know... it makes the 'magic'.

The Days are Numbered... I said it was boring and give it 5'5 but I think is the song that has grown the most on me. I can see the Hatebreeder magic.

BBM and WOS are really weird songs, I couldn't see the chorus and recognize the parts, haha.

SFS is my favourite. Full of nostalgic guitars riffs and hell-ish and snow-ish keyboards. A gem.

I'm pretty sure Halo Of Blood is my new favourite album by these dudes. At first, my favourite track was Damaged Beyond Repair, because of the awesome chorus and that cold, dark recurring melody. Also, the intro riff is both heavy and melodic as fuck. If I were to write a heavy riff, I would have done it exactly that way. Scream For Silence didn't get much plays in the beginning but now I think it's my new favourite. Chorus riff is freakin' insane and the whole song is structured perfectly. Classic Bodom ballad for me. Bodom Blue Moon definitely still has the best solo (for me) on the album, with Scream For Silence a close second, followed by either One Bottle or All Twisted. Can't choose between those two.

For me, if I had to order my favourite tracks from most liked to least liked, it would be:

1. Scream For Silence/Damaged Beyond Repair
2. One Bottle And a Knee Deep
3. All Twisted
4. Bodom Blue Moon (The Second Coming)
5. Halo Of Blood
6. Waste Of Skin
7. Dead Man's Hand On You
8. The Days Are Numbered [some of you may disagree, but as an entire song, it just doesn't flow for me. PERSONAL TASTES PEOPLE.]
9. Transference [maybe because it was NB replayed it way too much...]

Since I read that Damage could be used in some war scene of Lord of the Rings I like to hear it imagining some brutal scenes of whatever I came up.

I'm not able to do a ranking of the songs, it's really hard. Transference is a really great song but I've been listening to it for a month and... for example, Twisted just 2 days, it would be unfair.

Now I'm listening most to Scream for Silence and All Twisted... There are maybe seven songs that I can't decide which is the best on the album, so it's very consistent. But I'll analyze further some time soon... I've remarked that most of the songs have some epic melody and some epic riff...

Damn, Joonas, I've been waiting for your review all this day! ;)

There is an epic melody in all the songs, that it's clear. And the keyboards are the best since FTR/HCDR, I missed that Downfallish keys :'(

9. Transference [maybe because it was NB replayed it way too much...]

I feel you, they did a huge disservice to that song by replaying that cool melody over and behind, left and right on that METUL JERNULISTZ video and others.

But somehow I now like it a lot. In my top 4 on the album right now.

My personal list and each high point of the songs would have to be:
1. All Twisted (Chorus melody is amazing)
2. Damaged Beyond Repair (Chorus and unison solo)
3. The Days Are Numbered (I like the black metalish bridge to the chorus)
4. Dead Mans Hand On You (Dark atmosphere)
5. Halo of Blood (Aggressive as fuck, even heavier after Waste of Skin)
6. Scream For Silence (The strange verse melodies and the guitar solo. Also the unison solo before last chorus)
7. One Bottle and A Knee Deep (I love the keys with the intro riff and the Bed of Razors-esque melody in the chorus)
8. Waste of Skin (The main melody and the half-time bridge about halfway through)
9. Bodom Blue Moon (The intro and how it goes from E to C to get into the main riff. I also like the chorus but am not so fussed on the random transition to the second chorus)
10. Transference (The bridge is cool and the blackish verses are nice. The chorus is okay but the reason this is bottom is obviously because of NB overplaying it. Still a good song though)

Scream For Silence is in my opinion the BEST song, its just Facking amazing its just all round the best song , Transferance goes second by an Very strong second place, third goes to Blue Moon Bodom,

im not going to actually compare this album with their older work, I used to do this because i really miss there old work, (technical wise) but i have to mention this REALLY brings back that vibe !, Every Bodom album is awesome in their own way cause they all got an pretty unique sound and style, never the less im Really blasted by this album , just FANTASTIC !

Anyone know which leads Roope plays? To my ear sounds like one on WOS and another one on DMHOY. Can anyone confirm if this is the case.

Sounds like one on WoS, HoB, maybe TDaN, maybe the last solo of DMHOY, but those are just my guesses. HoB the first half sounds like Roope, not sure about TDaN but maybe the second half?

I really want to read the lyrics of Damaged, it's a shame that the booklet don't have the lyrics of that beast.
Bottle and Blue Moon lyrics deserves too to appear on the booklet. C'mon! they are the Bodom songs...

3 playthroughs in and I love this album, a great surprise! especially since I contained myself and didn't listen to any of the samples. only HOB & Trans.

Although all that talk about Dead mans hand being slow and whatnot kinda ruined the experience. Its an interesting song, and as they said, they took kind of a leap there since its out of their comfort zone. tbh, I was expecting something else haha.

Every song has something special in it but I would say Twisted growd on me the most.
