Dreamthread

Well, for fear of rambling on, I'll get to the point that makes the dream memorable enough for me to say "wtf?". My wife stole an old chevy caprice convertible, and I was riding a big mac like a scooter behind the car trying to catch up so I could jump in the back of the car. uhhhh. yeah. :erk:

I dreamt I was living in a big cheese eating my self out of the buidling :erk:
and then it was raining ballerina cookies :dopey:

Some crazy ones. Kanyon, I don't know how you remember all that.
It's strange. Sometimes I have these dreams which are really detailed and I can recall them very well. But then there are ones that I can barely remember.

This dream was so out there and seemed so real that I wrote about it somewhere else at the time it happened, which I think helped me remember most of it a lot better. I have cheated a bit and copied what I wrote to here.

The thing that freaks me out a lot also is that I can have dreams that are just like normal days. A couple of times I have brought up things that people have said that have never happened. I must have dreamt them and thought that they were in real life they seemed so real.

Like BasilisK's memory of that dream posted just recently was also accurate. They can just really stick when you have a dream like that.

Last night I had a very "Neil Gaiman-like" dream... I had a cat that was actually an fairy sized angel turned into a cat. Most of the time I just tried make this cat friend with a big slobbering dog. There was also something profoundly evil threatening the cat, but I can't remember what it was. It was rather weird as normally my dreams are much nearer to "weird, improbable, but possible shit in real world" than "mystical creatures in real world".

Yep, the mind *is* a fascinating thing. I just wish the conscious mind dind't overtake the subconsious (in which case the subconscious would not be so, anyway. Uh oh... i'm confusing myself. Again).

Anyway, a dream I had - I believe - a year or so ago.

I was at sea (and that's strange because I've *never* been to sea) in a ship. I don't remember if there were others, but anyway it was dark and it looked like something out of "Ghost Ship" or something (and no, I hadn't watched that movie then). So, now comes the strange part. I remember "World War 3" somehow. Then, I saw a bunch of things parachuting down to my ship. Strange, because it was similar to the Normandy landings (grey paras I guess). Anyway, I remember looking at a map and acting very important (?? lol). Then the things on paras happen to be ants, and they were invading!!! I forget the next part, and just remember that there was a shipwreck and I was looking for things to hold on to. A case of flotsam and jetsam (pun intended). Then, I remember being scared and delibarating on how the the future would be. That's strange. Come to think of it, is that why I fear water so? Btw, I am *not* hydrophobic ;)

Anyway, that dream seemed to away from who I am. But I hope that's not a precognitive one lol :p

I dreamt I pissed in a coke machine at a gas station. no joke. And the only reason I remember the dream, is because just then I woke up and had to pee really bad. Thank goodness for internal alarm clocks. :err:

A good reference site for dreams is www.dreammoods.com

Has an extensive dream dictionary for key terms, I use it a lot.

Last night I dreamt about having lots of anal sex with my fiancee, which was......freakin' awesome!! I just wish she was here to make my dreams come true! :tickled:

I get a lot of weird and crazy dreams...far too many that I remember to even begin retelling them all. I can remember oddball dreams way back from when I was even just a little kid. I love trying to interpret dreams, I think they can tell you a lot about your waking feelings and anxieties that you might not be able to articulate if you stopped to think about them on your own.

I had a dream just this afternoon (I passed out 'cos our air-conditioner's broken currently and I was suffocating) where I was in the South Gate shopping center parking lot and there was some big festivity with a high school dance squad. Girls were walking to the car and I saw some dudes bringing them flowers to their car and driving off with them, and I was upset because I was going to talk to the girl, but then she's already taken.

So I'm upset and I drive off, but most of the girls are standing at the end of the lanes blocking my path, so I drive between them to get into the thru-lane and then I see up ahead there's a big crowd of dancing girls blocking my path. So I turn back into the desolate parking spaces and drive across the parking lot to the other lane which is clear, but as I'm passing by the crowd of dancers I notice that they're either doing handstands and their knees are bent backwards, or they don't even have arms, but two sets of legs, and both of them are bent over the knees, and they look like crooked human spiders.

I get to the exit and end up running across the street and down the sidewalk, at which point I realize it must be a dream because I was running a little slower than I'd prefer as is a dream rule. Okay that and the fact that I had just been in a car, so why would I have to start running?

When I woke up I looked at my ceiling for a moment and realized I had to pee. I stood up and started walking to the door, but as I felt as if I were walking I noticed I was still staring at the ceiling. I've NEVER felt that before. It was sleep paralysis, I have that often, but never before have I actually felt like I was standing upright and walking to the door without seeing myself complete this process.

@Kanyon: You've got the coolest dream ever.

EDIT: Basilisk, you had a very cool dream too. But I think it's important to inform you that you were indeed dead at the end of that dream...it's the only reason you were forced awake.

Yes, although it ended before I "saw" the outcome, it gave me the distinct feeling that I did not survive.

Yeah, I've had quite a few dreams where I don't see the outcome, but I think I had one or two where I somewhat FELT the outcome. Rarely is one ever able to percieve themselves dying in a dream. Fascinating really.

I'd swear there was a thread for them in here, but I can't find it...

Post your dreams!

Dream 1 was a prison, we were interned elsewhere, building massive buildings, tunnelling through natural rock, doing electricity and expanding giant main hallways. My old next door neighbour was in there. Weird. Anyways, we built cells as we went tunnelling through this giant rock. Was it even Earth, come to think of it? I am not sure. The ruling body seemed alien, but maybe they were Chinese, I don't know...

Dream 2
there was these little glowing green shipped and bodied aliens that could travel interdimensionally. They had dark green shiney bodies, ditto for the little ships, the size of a football or two. They were like the size of smurfs, if that - three apples tall, and they had bright light lime green lasers and electronic shimmery. They left me hardly conscience and physically frozen, but I could sense them come, and I could feel them about me, more than one of them, and I was substantially in fear at that point, heightened alertness and lucidity within the altered state of pacification they entranced me in, however. They stayed, doing some tests on me, giving me something I could sense, of some sort positive, some sensory gear activated or something, then were talking about me, I think all that was telepathic, then they were gone. Then I awoke. Fine line, hey.

Aye. Merged Vinnolation's thread with this one since it keeps the topic alive. Plus it's always cool to see old names like Caillac and Manuel, even if they're not around anymore

Last night in my dream I was one of many priests involved in pagan wedding rite. A large decorated blanket was somehow very central to it, not sure why, but I can imagine... The rite was happening on a top of an old tower and suddenly storm broke out. I tried to break up the storm by going all Moses-at-red-sea on it, but then some old guy did it for me and mocked me for being too weak to drive the storm away.

Then Mickey Mouse and Goofy entered the dream and it got all weird and confusing.
