I was there only one year ago, less I simply told the production manager to go fuck himself, as there is no Engineering/Maintenance department at my past employer's company and I had to answer to his fat ass. Had I been in a slightly less agitated state of mind, I would have cited the old Jonny Paycheck song. I've always wanted to do that.
Anyway, it really sucked absolutely dreading to go to work everyday. I am glad I made a change, though it was more sudden than I had originally intended. I hope you get this new job. It's always great to expand your knowledge even if you find you don't like it or the company doesn't make it. With only twelve employees, the benefit package can't be all that great. I am sure you have thought about that eh ?
Of course if you know your way around C++ (though most of that is probably fizzled out) J2EE and other weird letter combinations I know nothing about, TSYS down here in Columbus Georgia is always looking for programmers. My ex-wife works there. She was heavily involved in their Y2K changeover.
