mournful cries starts well ('dragon time' is one of my favourite vitus tunes) but the second half is a low point in their career IMO

Yeah, I'll take The Troll over The Sloth anyday of the week. And "Looking Glass" is fucking awesome as well. I think Die Healing starts off strong but the 2nd half is pretty dull.

that album is consistently really good aside from the sloth IMO, probably their most consistent album for me aside from the debut.

You can smell the heroin. Same with Shooting Gallery.

Sloth is the third best song on the album. Just Another Notch is the weak point for me too, but having a relatively up-beat rocker type song at the end still works just fine. Nothing worse than a 3/5.

This is where I'm at currently. I love Saint Vitus and there's just a hair separating some of these albums right now. I tend to slightly prefer Wino Vitus, but Reagers Vitus is right there too and I particularly like Hallow's Victim.

Bottom half of my list wasn't easy to separate. They're all decent albums.

I'd insert the 2019 s/t at #6 in my list, but Hallow's Victim need not complain - it's still one of my top releases of 1985!
