GMD Poll: Saint Vitus's Discography Ranked

@crimsonfloyd hey C.O.D. still ended up last even with me placing it at #2? Are you scouting these right?

Gotcha. But i dont get how my first place vote didn't effect Hallow's Victim. And why im not even listed for giving it a first place vote.

(the self-titled is like Bauhaus meets doom)

That's a pretty good way to describe it. There's also a triangular Sabbath/Vitus/Bauhaus connection because Bauhaus covered "Saint Vitus Dance" on their debut, a Sabbath song that Vitus named themselves after. You probably already saw that coincidence but it's really cool.

*Edit* nevermind. Misread that. Cool connection. Did Saint Vitus ever reference Bauhaus as an influence?

I think Mournful Cries is better than Die Healing.

...Mournful Cries probably my #3 and is probably the better choice to buy though, now that I look.

I saw Saint Vitus at Hammer of Doom last night and they fucking killed. New stuff would be cool, but they went out on such a high note with Die Healing that I don't think we really need another album. God forbid they would do a Trouble or Witchfinder General.

I have a hard time deciding between Die Healing and the debut. Dark World is one of their very best songs, in any case.

Die Healing is such a heavy album, The Sloth!

Die Healing is the best Vitus album. Everything about it is fantastic.

I like Saint Vitus' debut the best. Nothing compares to Scott Reagers' performance on that album.

I really don't get how people think Reagers Vitus is "clearly superior" to Wino Vitus...

its really like comparing getting your dick sucked to having sex... cant really go wrong, but yeah I've always preferred Reagers.

first album is on another level from the rest for me. the vitus song is my favourite on this playlist and it isn't even necessarily my favourite on that album.

What music did you listen to before metal?

I came out of my mother's womb with a PBR in my hand and Saint Vitus "Born Too Late" blasting so, nothing.:erk:

I found Born Too Late too light for a doom metal album.

I definitely don't think so, it's pretty good for that era of doom.

I'm missing the point, aren't I.

It's because he was born too late.

Competitive rankings. Every album except Lillie: F-65 and C.O.D. got at least one first place vote, and every album except Die Healing and Hallow's Victim got at least one last place vote.

I'll be posting the Dio thread this evening.
