16) 'Til Death Do Us Unite (1997)

'til Death Do Us Unite has some good moments, but altogether it took Sodom until Code Red to get back in the saddle.

15) Get What You Deserve (1994)

Sodom's Get What You Deserve is REALLY shit produced. The bass is the loudest thing, and is highly intrusive, to accompany the heavily supbar songs.

Granted, they didn't decline as sharply as their other German thrash brethren, but I definitely struggle to get through some of their mid-90s output. "Get What You Deserve" seems like it COULD be decent, but that production job is all wrong for the music, IMO.

Finally got the new Sodom and after one listen I am impressed. Maybe it is due to the lack of quality thrash releases so far this year, or just low expectations going in, but it exceeds what I expected to hear.

Standout songs for me are the following:

Final Bullet, Epitome of Torture, and Cannibal

Well I really like the new album. It definitly has the typical Sodom vibe which isn't necessary surprising but they sound alot more focussed on hard riffs on Epitome of Torture than on the last album (just check out Stigmatized)
I still think In War And Pieces was very good but this album definitly adds the rawer side of Sodom like they have sounded on Code Red or the self titled.

12) In War and Pieces (2010)

In War And Pieces shocked the hell out of me - it's extremely rare for an older band to release an album that fits the 'all killer no filler' label, let alone one that has muthafucking Styptic Parasite on it

What are the ones you consider the WORST albums of 2010?

I, myself, name only one: Sodom - In War And Pieces. Too lame compared to old Sodom albums.

9) Sodom (2006)

C'mon man. The self-titled album is good, but it's nowhere their 80's-90's albums. Listen to Agent Orange or Tapping The Vein again and you'll get it.

Sodom is no way better than Slayer. And the last self titled thing is a proof. They steal their own and Slayers riffs...

8) Better off Dead (1990)

Better Off Dead - some great, fun songs on this one. My favorites are Capture The Flag, Resurrection, Shellfire Defense, Turn Your Head Around, and the Saw is the Law!

Better Off Dead is really hit or miss...

7) M-16 (2001)

Let's all worship Sodom now. In particular, M-16, and not just cause I just saw Full Metal Jacket. A fucking excellent album–vicious, straightfoward thrash as only Sodom can play it, with an added tone of heaviness comparable to The Antichrist. You NEED this album.

I AM THE WAR! NEVER DISARMED!
I AM THE WAR! WITHIN MY HEART
I AM THE WAR! SUPREME COMMAND!
I AM THE WAR! LIVING ON THE EDGE!
I AM THE WAAARRRR!!

I wish Onkel Tom was really my uncle.

Hordes of Chaos grinds M-16 so far into the ground it's not funny. I dug M-16, btw, but the second half kinda blows.

Ill take M-16 and Agent Orange over any of Kreator's works atm.[/QUOTE]

i kind of agree with waifu. The second half of M-16 is pretty weak, especially in comparison to the first half which has some of their best songs. I dont remember much about Hordes of Chaos but its definitively wasnt as good as M-16.

Tapping the Vein is better than anything Destruction did

Tapping the Vein is pretty overrated. It's not bad, by Sodom standards it's pretty alright, but it's really uninspired and not that much heavier than a Persecution Mania or whatever. I don't understand all the people that act like it was one of the last great thrash albums.

Tapping the Vein is their only album that has any death metal thrown in.

Sodom are about as thrash as it gets brosef.

Can't believe I forgot Expurse of Sodomy, that should definitely be in my list. I remember the day I bought that vinyl vividly, even though it was decades ago - I remember exactly what I smoked that night and where! Quite an achievement for me really.:lol:

EXPURSE OF SODOMY is a good shout though, may be my favourite of their thrash stuff.

It's time to die
Death stands behind the door
Satan sends his warriors
Demons break out from hell!

In other words: They rock, In the Sign of Evil rocks the most.

welll....to be fair, i do consider Sodom's debut EP "In the Sign of Evil" to be more early black metal than thrash metal, but that's just me.

Sodom - In the Sign of Evil (brutal satanic execution of angels from Angelripper & the gang, unforgettable cover & music)

[Persecution Mania] was my favourite for years, basically since the time I first even heard Sodom, but lately Agent Orange has slid into place at the top. Not really sure why, possibly my brother's influence on me, he loves that album.

all of their early work is great tbh

Now i'm just waiting for a certain person to pop up and start talking shit about Agent Orange. I'll give you a hint on who it is. He lives on the edge and has a mort avatar.

Agent Orange is the definition of generic thrash.
