Summoning not being on the list has more to do with them having too many quality albums. I saw at least 5 of the albums listed. Whereas an overhyped band like mayhem has one "classic". Burzum as well...

This forum has become the antithesis of heavy metal and I almost wonder if it isn't just a deliberate attempt to drive away the old crowd. Congratulations, it's working.

I just noticed this. It might be a bit slower than it was before but I like it better now, it's far more interesting, IMO. The old crowd was too focused on older albums and so damn unwilling to accept newer stuff unless it deliberately sounded old as the stuff they like and followed some formula of trooness.

Yeah. Same with Drudkh, even though three of their albums (the only good ones) are in the following top 10-15. Sort of brings merit to what Neph said about ranking bands, but that'd be hard because what do you do with a band like Mayhem, who only released one "classic" album (though an argument could be made for the pre-DMDS stuff). Do you judge them based off their whole catalogue or their contribution?

Drudkh not being in the top 20 and Windir getting shit on by everyone is kinda ruining the list for me. In retrospect I should have listed more than 1 album per band. I was trying to keep my list varied, but damn if I shouldn't have at least had Blood in our Wells on there.

Im seriously shocked that not only did Agalloch not make the list, but that The Mantle wasnt even close. Pale Folklore at least was somewhat up there, but to not have em in the top 20? Weak. No Aeternus too...Or Drudkh...Or Inquisition...I know its not my list, but wouldve thought the polls were going to be different.

We shouldve had the rule one album per band too. Two Emperor albums on this list is just stupid. As much as I love em, give me one Burzum and DT album so that other shit could have a chance...According to the list that would be Sarcafago and Rotting Christ, but that would atleast put Drudkh on the list.
